Everything was good across the board. Check in and check out were quick. The only downside was the secondary vending machine was nearly empty so limited in house snacks.

This served its purpose, bed & shower. The room comfortable & quiet.
The main entrance/ lobby is at one end of the building while parking is along the 2/3 of the other end of the building. Gotta haul luggage some distance. Once inside, there is no elevator to the 2nd level...gotta haul luggage up 2 sections of stairs.
My bed linens were not suitable. The blanket between the sheet & top cover had weed seed stickers all over. This didn’t affect my sleep, just poorly kept.
The stay was ok. The room light switch did not work. The electrical outlets in the bathroom were not working. The room could have been cleaner. The room was very spacious and the price is great. The check in process was easy and the clerk was friendly.
It was very affordavle but the room carpet was very dirty and the bathrub was filthy. The bed and sheets were very comfortable tho and great for a much needed sleep after 11hrs of dirivng

Check-in employee (a gentleman) was very nice. At one point I thought I’d lost my license and he tried to help look for it.
At check-out, the woman at the counter only quickly glanced up from her phone when I returned the key.
I highly recommend this place. The lobby is rustic looking and inviting. It is just off a major road, although finding Jason Way Court was a challenge, and has a Menards and Crackle Barrel very close.
My room was very clean and I found the bed very comfortable. The only problem was the very low toilet. A rail by the he wall would be a big help.
The location was good and the price was cheap. The halls were dirty. I had to make my own bed since there were no blankets. The pool was advertised on the electronic sign but was closed and drained.
Everything essential was present, clean and functional, but check-in was brusque, the pool advertised on the sign was under maintenance, the room had missing appliances and empty fixtures, the corners of the room were filthy, the hot water was lukewarm, there was a layer of *something* peeling off the window, and I could clearly hear what was happening in a nearby room and it wasn’t conversation. But sheets seemed clean - no bedbugs - and I felt safe.

The bed was comfortable, and that’s all I have to say that’s good. The desk clerk, upon check-in, question my service dog, to which I replied what his service was. Then he asked me about my disease/disability, and if it would ever be cured. I advised him that was inappropriate and illegal. He argued with me. As I was videotaping our exchange, he tried to grab my cell phone and told me that I could not record him. When I got to the room, there was no toilet paper, and only one bath towel, and one towel to stand on. No hand towel no wash cloths Whatsoever. The photos and advertisements show a waffle maker, yogurt, the usual, super ate breakfast, but just now when I went down for breakfast, there was only cold cereal, bread for toast, and coffee. The desk clerk said that she ordered food two weeks ago, but she had no food in the back. I wish I would’ve stayed elsewhere, and I almost did. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place, management is poor.
I already sent an earlier review, citing stained bedsheet, no TP, and night clerk who talked
in a foreign language on SPEAKER phone instead of focusing on my check-in procedure. THEN later I noticed there was no soap, found poop on toilet seat and grimy tissue dispenser!
To be honest, because I am on SS, I was thrilled to find a convenient hotel location at a budget price to facilitate a long day of driving. I left Ankeny at 5 AM and drove to Springfield IL for a funeral service and dreaded driving all the way back home the same day. The price enabled me to break up my trip. In retrospect, I realize that a budget price is not an adequate trade off for disgusting, unhygienic conditions. I don’t think I will be staying at this hotel ever again. The only upside was the morning desk clerk. She was friendly and wrote down all my concerns as I showed her the pictures. I have traveled all over the world in my life and only encountered one hotel that was worse than this one. Words cannot describe my disappointment.
