"The beautiful tatami room and onsen were experiences I'll never forget! And coming here when the fall foliage was so vibrant and colorful made it all the better!"

"As a North American traveler, you need to make sure you select a western room that has a shower. Some of the rooms do not have a shower and you need to use the baths. This is a problem if you have a morning flight as the bath not open early enough. It is also a problem if you think you can shower in your own room."

"The hotel is conveniently located right next to Hell Valley and across from several restaurants, making it ideal for both day trips and overnight stays. My only complaint is the strict check-in policy—check-in starts exactly at 2 p.m., with no early check-ins allowed, so plan your visit accordingly.
The hotel offers a variety of amenities, including a gift shop, several restaurants, game and karaoke rooms—great options for families or anyone looking for a relaxing staycation. My family and I stayed in a Japanese-style tatami room in the South Wing. While the room was cozy, it felt a bit small and dated. The bedding was warm and comfortable, though I wouldn’t recommend this room type for elderly guests, as getting in and out of the futon might be difficult.
There are several types of onsen baths available, including steam and sauna rooms—honestly, too many to try them all. I also had my first Kaiseki dinner after visiting the onsen, and it was a wonderful experience.
Overall, I was happy with my stay and would recommend this hotel for a relaxing visit to Hell Valley."

"Do not get me wrong, the staff was super nice and friendly. Only concern was as follows. I arrived just after 2pm and check in is at 3pm, which is fine as I waited in the lobby, my fault I was early. I was the only person there and tried to check in and was asked to wait till 3pm. I waited and other people showed up also getting ready to check in and everyone sat in the lobby. The receptionist called 2 gentlemen to the desk to fill out paperwork and then called two separate parties to complete paperwork, well the check in paper. No one called me to complete this at all, but Receptionist see me sitting there and I was first one in the lobby. At 14:50 the receptionist walked to all the guests and gave them their room key to go up to their rooms. I was a bit amazed by this as I was the first one there and then I walked up to reception and the reception only then gave me the same paperwork she gave the other guest where they asked your details. Not sure why everyone else was helped before me and then even the fact that the receptionist walked around to hand them their keys, while I’m just sitting there. Was not sure if it was because they could all speak Japanese or if its because I’m a foreigner, but I should have been helped first surely. "
"Very nice hotel. A little dated but nice. We stayed in a Japanese style room with futons which was nice but very few electrical outlets. Not a big deal. The private onsen we had was very tiny so we opted for the public one which was great! So unless you’re shy, forego the private onsen in your room. Dinner was a kaiseki ryori (Japanese multi course dinner) which was beautiful, just not my favorite… breakfast was a combination of a Japanese course with buffet. Hotel is very close to the park and shops. I read a recent review online complaining about lack of a/c… there is a/c, works very well it is not obvious but it’s a dial with off, low, med, high. The reviewer should have used google translate ( the off did translate to cut). "
"Very friendly & helpful staff, we should learn Japanese in order to communicate better.
The hotel is luxurious, a bit worn down and needs refreshing.
Excellent location with free shuttle easily accessible"
"Conveniently located at the lower slope of Noboribetsu. Price is affordable but lift is small and slow. Onsen is a indoor and an outdoor with no views. Room is clean, spacious with plenty of charging plugs in the room. Bed, pillow and duvet is soft and comfortable. We had a wonderful sumptuous Japanese breakfast with mixture of western delights. You do have to walk up a slope to reach the Carpark. If you want an affordable place to stay, here is a good recommendation."
