Dallas hotel rooms a the Independent

"I arrived near midnight, knowing that would happen I called early to let them know, and there was no desk agent. I called the phone number on the sign and could not reach anyone. I then made contact with the maintenance man as another the sign on the door said. They did not know of my reservation and had to "just give me a room". The room had no amenities or shower curtain. The beds appeared reasonably clean, but I did not feel comfortable. Room was conld and could not find the thermostat."

"Great hot breakfast and the pool is great. The place is always in great condition. We stay here all the time. "

"They never mentioned their hot tub was closed and a hot tub was the ONLY reason I booked the hotel. The pool was warm but the floors around the pool were cracking, missing pain, and dirty. There was no bedding for the pull out and we had to go get some. There was a dog that started barking at 5am, now don’t get me wrong I have 2 dogs and chickens so the crowing starts at 3 however I came to the hotel for some peace and this hotels as not it. The breakfast was hot and okay for hotel food. I personally will NOT be back at this hotel. "

"There was an undisclosed prior to arrival, $6 per day fee. It is unclear what that fee was for. The elevator was broken. It seems like it had been broken for a while. They said a phone was dropped down the elevator shaft and broke the elevator. They said the part would be there Monday but that seems like they probably have been saying that for a while now. This made getting luggage to the room a big hassle. Breakfast was good. Doors in the room to the bathroom were VERY narrow"

"This hotel just needs maintenance and better upkeeping - the door took 3 tries to open, the bathroom was dirty and the tub black, the showers temps were reversed, and in general everything just appears run down."
