"Coral Lodge really helped put a roof over my head. It appears Expedia let me book for a vacancy that did not exist, and I did not find out until I landed at Coral Lodge. I was very grateful to the owner for finding me a bed for 2 nights at least (I had to go elsewhere) for the other nights. A disaster was narrowly avoided (the town was all booked out) and im grateful to Coral Lodge for trying to help me as much as they could. While I won’t be using Expedia again, I will definitely be staying at Coral Lodge again"
"Once happy hour finished at six the pool bar closed, seemed odd not to stay open to allow people to have another drink - you’d done a great job luring everyone down then the vibe just stopped. Good for thought."
Shantara Resort Port Douglas - Adults Only Retreat
10/10 Excellent
"The rooms are clean and spacious. Being an adults only resort, it is very quiet and relaxing. The location is excellent and very close to everything. We loved our stay and will be back!"
"We had a great stay, the pool area is amazing, however be aware the tennis court including basketball ring is locked and access must be booked through reception during reception opening hours. Beds were good and with great aircon and fans. However couches and outside chairs are not particularly comfortable. The front balcony light and one of the back balcony lights were not working. There was a BBQ on the back balcony but no gas bottle.
I would not recommend the Beach Shack or the Tavern (which are both within walking distance). A short drive into Port Douglas. Also be careful with parking as our approach angle put the front bumper at risk.
Overall great value."
"This spot is a hidden gem! Completely inside the rainforest and the staff is amazing. They only use reusable silverware and dining ware even for cooking in your own. The bathrooms are very clean and near the room and the room is right in the rainforest. It started pouring rain in the middle of the night which sounded incredible!"
"Cape Tribulation is a very unique and special location. It’s certainly worth exploring and staying the night. The cabin was clean and the ensuite was large and clean. It was ideal having the ensuite because it was raining and although the amenities weren’t far, it wouldn’t have been unpleasant having to leave the comfort of your room to shower or use a toilet. Perhaps the price is up there, but I guess it’s fairly remote. Staff friendly, pub across the road made lovely pizza."
