We first stayed here 2 years ago and the chateau is a beautiful building. The range of services is improving - e.g. Better menu, local produce on sale
Unfortunately the room we were provided with this time was far too hot, no air conditioning. Windows could not be left open because of the very loud bird chatter all night. This meant a pretty sleepless night and at close to £200 for a nights stay and another £150 on dinner etc, quite unacceptable.
Having searched other hotels. I am sure we can do better.
The hotel was lovely - a grand old country estate chateau with enormous grounds. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed walking for hours along the paths in the park and doing the chateau's "treasure hunt"in the afternoon when we arrived. Food was excellent for dinner and breakfast the next day. We thought it would be a great place to stay and relax for several days, as there were many activities offered in the area. We had only one problem, for some bizarre reason the phone rang twice and woke us up in the night. We asked in the morning at the front desk but they had no explanation.
