"Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business. Note that hotels.com incorrectly shows the location on the map, house is actually over an hour walk from the center of Windermere. Further, hotels.com inaccurately details free WiFi at the accommodation. Space itself is about as pictured. Very cosy, lovely garden, however did quite aggressively smell of wet dog and conservatory had some spiders/cobwebs. "

"Nice place, right time of the year. Cabin and hot tub were excellent. The shared pool leaves a little to be desired for young kids. Especially those who may not be confident in the water. "Visable damp on the bathroom wall by the shower and a very strong smell of damp in the downstairs area including bedrooms. The owner tried to disguise the smell with air fresheners and by leaving the windows open but the smell of damp was still immediately apparent on entry. Had we been staying longer than 2 nights and not arrived so late in the evening on the first night we would have left. "Staff are always friendly and helpful. They remembered me from a previous visit. Rooms are clean, well presented and accessible (lift). Hotel is right outside the station, and a short distance from the centre of town. Breakfast offers continental or full English (best bacon ever). Loved playing solitaire in the bar - small selection of games/packs of cards available. Lovely place to stay. Highly recommended."
