"The staff were very helpful and friendly and the pool is lovely. The views are just stunning as well. But it was not worth over £250pn (for just me!). For that price I really would have expected some extra touches like bathrobes and better towels (they were really thin). There wasn't anywhere to hang up outdoor jackets and no information pack. Decent quality biscuits would also have been appreciated (bourbons - really?!) I was also forgotten about at breakfast on the first morning; the waitress was very apologetic but she did admit it shouldn't have happened! I had dinner there one night and the standard of food was excellent but portions were quite small (adequate for me but definitely would have left others hungry!). The continental selection at breakfast was really good (pastries and fresh bread etc). The cooked breakfast was OK but could definitely have been a better standard of produce."

"A really impressive building - we’ve passed by before and always hoped to stay here. The building is quirky and has so much going for it… probably several £££ million to bring it up to 4* standards, but the staff were super friendly and the room we were assigned was brilliant and had lovely views over the port. Also accommodated for our dog which was really appreciated. The restaurant served a great dinner too and the Scottish breakfast gave us a cracking start on our onward journey. Thank you !"

"Nice room, very comfortable. Friendly staff and really good on site restaurant. Pool, hot tub and saunas were nice. Fitness room was well stocked. Only recommendation is it would be nice to have a fridge in the room. Overall though it was an excellent stay and my wife and I would definitely stay there again."

"The room was fabulous with a big comfortable bed. All the staff we met were friendly and very helpful. We were travelling with our dog so couldn’t eat breakfast in the main restaurant but we ate in the tavern instead which was lovely and quiet. We could pick from their menu or order anything from the main restaurant including the buffet too. In the evenings we ate in La Vista and again took our dog, the first was great and again we were well looked after. My only negative would be the cost of bringing our dog at £50 per night which is very high compared to other hotels on our trip and the very long dog policy we needed to sign on arrival which we’ve never come across before. As responsible dog owners we always clean up after our dog and would expect to pay extra in the unlikely event of damage."
