The Star is a bare bones affair. It's a great place if you're in town for a concert or a night or 2. You get cable TV, comfortable bed & clean shower & bathroom. The area has improved greatly over the last several years, you can walk at most times of the day or night w out incident. There are several eateries all within walking distance and the area is serviced by the OCTA bus's 71 & 178.

we enjoyed our stay! the only thing that we would change is that our door seemed to have been broken and would shut, but the bottom part of the door would stick out into the room bringing in light, but we still felt safe!
