"Firstly it took over 10minutes for receptionist to come over and give us our key for room. She was also working on the bar, so reception was unmanned. It took the third attempt of ringing bell before we were seen to. Considering we had an accessible room it was tiny and one side of the bed was a few inches from the wall. Bathroom was adequate with a walkin showr, though no bath mat was provider to step out on to."

"Lovely location near Hexham with stately home vibes and comfortable bedrooms. The bar overlooks the golf course and has lots of nooks and crannies to settle in with a glass of whatever to people watch. The restaurant has a very good menu and the staff are attentive and make sure all is OK with your meal. Breakfast is self serve with full platters of tasty food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"The breakfast was first rate, the cooked breakfast was just enough and cooked to perfection. The staff were amazing, really friendly and helpful which greatly improved the whole experience. The building internally would benefit from a little attention eg. Some flaking paintwork in hallway, but nothing offensive, and did not affect our stay at all. The room was clean and well presented, so glad we upgraded to Deluxe double. Noticed a little black mould on the grout around bath, but it was clear that the bathroom had been thoroughly cleamed. We loved staying at the Macdonald Linden, and would happily recommend it to other travellers We hope to return soon. Great base for exploring the beauty of Northumberland. An altogether great weekend."

"Nice room with good Ringtons tea drinks and biscuits. TV very small. Lovely meal and beers in the bar. Big portions.. Nice shop. Lovely surroundings and access to Hadriens wall. Breakfast had a good selection. Friendly staff. "

"The hotel is in a lovely position at the side of a river and is handy for visiting Hadrian's Wall and the nearby towns of Hexham and Corbridge. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and not to be missed, especially the evening meals."
