Someone obviously put a lot of care into building this place and in cultivating the gardens and grounds, it's really lovely. The concierge, Ricardo goes above and beyond to be helpful and accommodating, he's wonderful. Having said that, he's also a bit short staffed so things are a bit untidy-the gardens need attention, the lobby isn't always picked up but the beauty and tranquility of the location and the pleasant but simple rooms make it worthwhile. If you are used to luxury then this will not be for you but if you tend to stay in hostels, this is a big upgrade. It's pleasant to sit in the garden and see the wild guinea pigs scampering around and to see and hear the wide variety of birds. If I'm ever in Copacabana again, this is where I'll be staying.

Ecolodge?

This not really an ecolodge and could do with a little maintenance and finishing touches to make it really nice. Reception staff were not that helpful and didn't provide any info about anything. Maybe some bicycle and kayak hire would be a good option. Overpriced at $50 a night

The hotel is OK, but far from downtown.

The bed was very uncomfortable, besides that the hotel has good structure (shower, breakfast etc). The hotel is quite far from downtown (30 minutes walking, therefore at night it is necessary to use taxi.

Nice stay, but a bit out of the way

The water temperature is difficult to control, but the room is very clean and the staff is very helpful. The hotel is a bit of a distance from the town, which is inconvenient if you have a small child. We had a heater with us which was useful and highly recommended. The views are stunning and the property is relaxing and beautiful.

Eccentric hotel with friendly staff

THe Ecolodge is 1 mile or so from the center of Copacabana -- an easy walk during the day, but problematic at night. excellent, eccentric accommodations -- ours was like a Hobbit home, sparkling clean, but basic. The hotel host was friendly, welcoming, and spoke some English. We were there in July (mid-winter), and hence the only guests.

Extremely nice staff

The hotel was overbooked due to power failure and Expediataking in more and more booking. The manager really bent over backward to accomodate us, with one night at Ecolodge and the rest at La Cupula, offfering us a nice room and complimentary breakfast at a time where everything was full in Copacabana, enquiring in the next days if we were feeling well. We did!!!

Nice clean rooms with hot water but too far

We stayed one night before visiting Isla Del Sol. The location is picturesque. The cabins/rooms are nice, well maintained and clean. They are a little cold at night although there was plentiful hot water which can be hard to find. The breakfast was included and was above average with fresh fruit and fresh juices, cheese, breads, cereals and yogurts. The power and therefore, internet was out when we arrived which was a little inconvenient and we expected more from a relatively expensive place. It is a 15-20 minute walk along the beach road to town. Not a huge problem but worth knowing. The route is safe even at night but you need a torch. For one night we didn't think the location and larger room were worth the price or the walk. We preferred our cheaper stay in town after the Isla del Sol.

a localização ajuda quem quer ficar longe da bagunça da cidade e perto do lago. É uma caminhada tranquila até o centro, sem grandes problemas. o hotel tem potencial, mas parece que o dono não quer ou não pode investir mais. o quarto é enorme, gostoso, mas o chuveiro é ruim, temperatura oscilante demais. o café da manhã é bom, mas o jardim está largado. enfim, pode melhorar bastante, mas já é um bom hotel. ps: não aceita cartáo.

Unusual characterful hotel

We had a lovely time at Ecolodge. The rooms and garden were quite special with great character. We even had our own little garden space with a view of Lake Titicaca. Our only problem was the climb up through the garden to our room as we had to stop to regain our breath because we are not used to the altitude! The owner was very helpful giving us lifts into town. Ecolodge was a 20min walk from the town which we knew before but it was worth that little inconvenience. The breakfast was lovely, with a variety of fresh fruit, cheese and ham etc.

En verdad cuidar entre todos el planeta es una opción sumamente valida, esa parece ser la premisa de este hotel, pero descuidando el agua necesaria para la higiene personal ya sea demasiado fría o caliente y la calefacción ya que las habitaciones están muy altas. Si nosotros sentimos frío en enero que es verano pues que sera en pleno julio que es invierno.No observe en ningún momento calidad y calidez como si lo aprecie en otros sitios. En este mundo globalizado es necesaria la conexión a internet que fallo en la mayoría de los intentes y ni siquiera realizaron movimientos o señas para arreglarlo.Ademas mi contrato decía que no cobrarían impuestos adicionales y en verdad si lo hicieron. Pues estas son mis razones para no recomendarlo deberían por lo pronto reveer varias actitudes, ya que sus tarifas no son de las mas economicas.

It is a work-in-progress in a lovely quiet setting on the water about a 15 minute walk from Copacabana. They can arrange for trips to the islands (sun and Moon) and are reasonable. The breakfast is good. The rooms have been designed well and I felt the feng shui. Price of room was less than the price when I booked.

Ein großer Pluspunkt ist die schöne Lage und originelle Architektur. Ansonsten stehen fast alle angekündigten Leistungen nicht zur Verfügung: es fehlt ein Restaurant, der Fahrradverleih ist nicht kostenlos, von einer Bar bzw. Aussichtsterrasse keine Spur, die Dusche ist ein erbärmliches Rinnsal mit entweder kochend heißem oder eiskaltem Wasser. Die Hunde auf dem Gelände verhalten sich aggressiv (schnappten nach den Gästen), Verständigung ohne Spanischkenntnisse nicht möglich. Shuttle zum Busbahnhof wurde berechnet (überteuert, da Fahrer angeblich nicht wechseln konnte). Kleiner Pluspunkt: Das Frühstück war ok.

Lugar de relax

El hotel está alejado del centro de Copacabana, pero el sitio es especial para relax. Se recomiendo llegar en coche o taxi. La vista es espectacular y está rodeado de naturaleza. Muy buen servicio. Muy limpio. Está muy bien diseñado y es muy bonito. Le hace falta mantenimiento a los jardines, da la impresión de descuido. Recomiendo el sitio, fue una buena elección.

very cosy place

the staff at this place was really nice and helpful. the rooms were clean and more european, ecofriendly style. bathroom were the best in weeks, very clean if you compare to other places in bolivia. we were sooo satiesfied with our stay here. the only bad thing was that it's a bit far from copacabana centrum. but anyway, it doesn't really matter. it's a 15 minutes walk along the beach, nice view and calm area. not dangerous at nights as well. BOOK THIS PLACE!!
