"This house is beautiful and immaculate and the owner had thought of everything for all ages from high chairs and travel cots to a shower seat in the walk-in shower. The location was ideal to so many places. The owner is lovely and was quick to resolve any issues. Unfortunately the house itself seems to be the only part of the property that has been renovated and what will be a lovely fairy garden, replete with waterfalls, was marred by construction rubbish. "we were travelling to Ireland to bring my brother’s ashes back to bury him, I spoke to the owner of this house on the day of travelling only to be told they do not advertise their property with Hotels.com we were left stranded and having to sort out accommodation last minute, the owner tried to help us as Bunclody is a very small town and not plentiful of accommodation. We ended up finding somewhere which was not ideal as it was room only instead of a whole house with cooking...

8/10 Good

"Hotel was nice and clean, plenty of parking in the underground parking lot. Reception very friendly. Unfortunately the day I stayed both the main restaurant and pool / spa facilities were closed so can’t comment on them. The bar food was nice but limited choice. Bed was comfy and room a good size although the room I was in was noisy from a dripping in the toilet and outside the window was another car park which had a lot of banging. Breakfast in the morning was very nice and great start to the day."

"Stayed only one night but was incredible value. Very good location. Very well staffed, beautiful room with river view. Bar food was excellent. Pint of Guinness also perfect. Definitely will go back. Complementary gym and pool also ideal for families. Nearby National Heritage centre brilliant for all ages."

"Overall stay was good. Room was very clean and the staff were friendly. No early checkin was available, so I had to wait nearly 3 hours to get my room. Parking is terrible for this place. Basically, a dirt parking lot. Very difficult to find a spot. Also, paid about $30 dollars for the fish and chips. TERRIBLE. Peas were nearly cold and poor quality fish. Would not eat there again but I would stay there for location and cleanliness."

"This was such a welcome change from the hotels we’d been in nights before. Mary was an absolutely wonderful hostess. We picked up wine, cheese and bread before arriving and sat in the courtyard of the barn. Piper, the family cat, stayed close and enjoyed the ear scratches. We sat in the loft of the barn in the evening and enjoyed the cosy comfort and the wifi. We walked the trail around the property. A little forest bath before bed. The hut was comfortable….perfect really. Breakfast in the common area was perfect for us as well…homemade sourdough bread, farm fresh boiled eggs, lovely selection of healthy cereals, preserves, French press coffee and fresh fruit. Washrooms…..so well done. Large and well-equipped. This is really a unique and special place and you get to stay there for a very reasonable price."

"Great little locally owned place. The food was good. The pub was great. Friendly locals gathered as well as fellow travelers. Had a great time and really enjoyed staying at the hotel so much, we decided to stay another night. The staff was also very accommodating where they could be, although we did have a few issues. We had some trouble with no heat in our room the first night. The staff was quick to respond to turn it on that evening; however, it didn't get/stay on, so it never warmed up, and was very cold. Due to the limited staff availability, (not available 24 hours,) we we unable to get heat until the next day. They did attend to it to ensure it worked the next day though. The other issue was not having a way to make outbound local calls. As we were traveling internationally, our phones couldn't be used for calls (due to phone plan,) and we found ourselves scrambling with other guests to order food delivery one night, since we missed the 8pm food cut off. We were able to find someone else also looking to order food, but it was unnecessarily complicated and stressful. I understand, though. They are a small, local place and need to keep costs down where they can. Overall, we had a wonderful time, the staff was accommodating, and we would definitely stay there again if/when we make it back to Curracloe!"
