"We arrived at the hotel at noon and went in on the off chance we could check-in early. The friendly staff member at the front desk took our phone number in case it was ready earlier than 4. We never heard anything so went back after 4. The room choices on Expedia were 1 King with full ocean view and 1 King with partial ocean view. Of course we selected the Full View. Too our great disappointment our room had a partial view and looked out onto the HVAC equipment on the roof. We messaged the hotel and received a quick response that it was our responsibility to advise them on check-in that we wanted a full ocean view and that rooms are given in order of arrival. We specifically booked a full ocean view room and arrived at Noon! The rooms were renovated and clean, the 2 staff members we spoke with were very friendly and helpful with "what to do" in Powell River. The location is great but beware the room you book is not what you should expect."
