"While the staff was professional and very courteous (nice people) they could not make up for the current squalid condition of this hotel. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, we thought/hoped the interior would look better than the stained, dirty and cracked run down exterior surrounded by a parking lot in desperate need of a face lift displaying weathered and severely faded and cracked black top and parking space lines . We walked in and were greeted by very pleasant font desk employees. Unfortunately, smell of mold was pungent, the air was thick and damp. What made it worse, was the heavy scent of air freshener that was being used to mask the smell of mold, damp air and “the ages.” In spite of those warning signs we decided to look and see if the room may be
In better condition. Upon entering the room we agreed that we simply could not stay at this hotel. The walls and carpet were heavily stained, the furniture looked 30+ years old. It had to be the original furniture - worn
and tattered. Then the most important test. We laid on
the bed, looked at the room from that vantage point - all the stains on the walls and ceiling the pungent and unpleasant odor permeating the hotel was even stronger in the room. We jumped up from the bed reflexively and started looking for a new/different
hotel. Once we booked a new hotel, we informed the front desk staff that we could not stay. They said they understood and would refund our money minus $25 for a cleaning fee. OK 👍"
