"The main positive I’ll start with is the cost. This hotel was very affordable compared to other options, which was important because I didn’t want to spend significantly more money.
However, the original room was very poorly set up. For example, when you turned off the light, it also turned off the TV. I had to call the help desk, and the staff member walked me through plugging the TV in behind the microwave. This is something that should have already been set up properly and reflects a lack of attention to detail.
Additionally, the hot tub and pool area did not appear to be very clean. There should be someone responsible for maintaining that area regularly. We have a hot tub at home, and the cleanliness we saw there did not compare.
Another concern was that my wife is very allergic to mold. As soon as we walked into the room, she started having a reaction. We opened the window and avoided running the air-conditioning unit because we didn’t want it circulating anything that might trigger her allergies. After airing out the room and spraying it with Lysol, it became tolerable.
Bottom line: if you’re trying to save money and can tolerate a few issues, this hotel may work for you. However, if you’re looking for higher quality and peace of mind, it may be worth spending a few extra dollars for a hotel such as a Holiday Inn, Marriott, or similar brand."
