"I booked a single room with twin bed but upgraded to a double bed and got a better room. The room itself was quite dark, except for first thing in the morning when the sun lit up the room and the bathroom, which was nice. The bedroom had only one central light (quite dark) and one bedside light, with no lighting over by the desk where the kettle/tea/coffee were, which was a little awkward. The bathroom was very nice, light, airy and spacious. The room itself was up and down a lot of stairs, along winding corridors with creaky floors, but the reason I chose this hotel was because it is hundreds of years old and has character, so I expected that! I was very disappointed with the internet, for a couple of reasons. One is that this is one of the few hotels I’ve stayed in recently that has open, unsecured internet, which is not good. The other is that it was very frustratingly intermittent and many everyday websites were simply not available, including the hotel’s own website! When I could get on a website or into my e-mails, one time it would be on and the next few minutes it would be off again, then back on, then off, even though it should me as still being connected!. Very frustrating. Perhaps this was because of the location of my room in the hotel and it being so old and having very thick walls? Anyway, I would recommend the hotel, as long as you know about the quirks. I liked the free parking and the hotel is located in nice private grounds, which is nice."

"The room condition was poor - it needs fully decorating - even in a suite it has scratches and scuffs on all the walls and woodwork. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable and pushed together twin beds. No good "

"This hotel was the first stop we made when traveling from Canada. Unfortunately we only booked for one night however it was worth it! It was great to Uber from the airport and just spend our first evening in. We checked in, ate dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed the hydrotherapy amenities of the hotel. I booked this hotel specifically for the hydrotherapy knowing that after a long day's worth of travel it would be a great way to start our vacation. The only thing was we were not given towels when we went and assumed they were inside the pool area so we did not have a towel to dry off! Fun fact, you get your towel from the attendant at the desk who allows you out back to the change rooms. I went back again in the morning and my locker would not unlock, thankfully someone wearing clothing was able to walk to the desk and get someone to assist. The food at the hotel was good for supper but a little expensive for what we got. The breakfast however was amazing and worth getting up to enjoy! There is also a small Starbucks built into the hotel which means the hotel had good coffee for breakfast! Room and bed were comfortable however the shower was awkward and the floor gets very wet. As my partner was getting out of the shower I had wet feet and stepped on the towel to dry and when he was getting out the towel stuck to my foot and he slid into an awkward position which could be dangerous. Staff are super friendly and I would highly recommend visiting this hotel!"

"Location perfect for our group get together - 30 mins stroll into Skipton. Breakfast good however staff need more training in replenishment of items Dinner OK - very expensive for what it was as were drinks. Service not great as order taken incorrectly meaning one of our group got his meal later than the rest - they didn't charge him for it. Reception staff very good & helpful"

"Was our 3rd or 4th time staying. Car park good. Area around is lovely. Reception area is really nice. Room is clean, large. Bar food was good. Staff were good. Breakfast was okay - staff there were lovely. Pool, changing rooms are nice but steam room not working which was a shame. Welcome arrival from reception always seems lukewarm."

"Breakfast was terrible. No cups,cutlery and no food left. Total rubbish.If it’s included in the cost it’s ok.Do not pay extra for it There is a Mcds and a service station attached with plenty of reasonable eateries."
