"Reception guy was friendly and the pool was heated. They were the only things that were ok. We stayed for 2 nights with 3 kids. Do not recommend. Room was so old and foul. Pillows and beds are super old and uncomfortable. The photos make it look way nicer than it is. Everything is so run down. It needs some serious love and care."

"We really appreciated the clean comfortable room, friendly staff, daily room servicing, happy hour and included buffet breakfast. While we didn't dine in the restaurant- dinner menu looked great. The staff always greeted us with a smile. The hotel was a fantastic base for our exploration of the Ballarat region. We will recommend this hotel to others considering staying in Ballarat."

"DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO DUST Room appeared clean enough on the surface, comfy ish bed how ever, room was full of dust to the point that I'm now on antibiotics for sinusitis and steroids for an asthma flare up. Staff (the 1 we saw) was friendly and helpful, made sure we had clean towels. The pool is not heated to 28 as advised, and has a 'lovely' layer of green on the ground. "This is a basic motel in a great location. It’s clean and comfortable if you are just looking for a bed to stay the night. We have stayed here a few times now."

"Great cabin - set up well and most importantly - stayed warm! Would absolutely stay here again. Our 2 year old loved it!"

"Air con control needed batteries, no soap in bath container. Little bit dated inside but serviceable. Road hump was way too high and cars scrapping underneath as they drove over it. Tried to book dinner and drinks to room but had to pay on purchase which was a little weird."

"Large 2 bedroom apartment in the Hotel. Great location, clean, comfy beds, warm, large bathroom. Will stay here again. Restaurant looked great, but we had already booked elsewhere. Will have dinner here next time."

"Great place and super clean! Location is great and super close to a good pub and an IGA. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating to our needs! Only two nickpicks are that the TV is too far away from the sofa and the bed was too soft for me (but that's just personal preference)."

"Second time staying at Sovereign hill hotel, it’s in a perfect location, easy access to sovereign hill next door The only two faults is the TV in the room is shocking, the sound is so muffled we didn’t even watch it in the end And the housekeeping for the 2nd day wasn’t great, the beds looked like my kids made them and the dirty dishes were left in our room Heater works great but is loud overnight"
