Secluded and unspoiled, this remote corner of the Olympic Peninsula is known for its fishing opportunities, along with birding and beachcombing.

Explore the wild and often deserted oceanfront of Clallam Bay. Pick from the range of ocean-based activities the area has to offer, from casual strolls to deep-sea diving.

With the community of Clallam Bay on the east side and the town of Sekiu on the west, Clallam Bay is a convenient and relaxing spot to spend a day or two on the Olympic Peninsula. Book a fishing charter and have a licensed captain take you out for a day, steer a kayak through the bay or lace up your boots and hike to find awe-inspiring ocean views.

Wander through the two charming local towns of Sekiu and Clallam Bay. Both towns were settled in the early 1880s. Although the livelihood of the towns once depended on industries such as logging, canning, leather tanning and fishing, today tourism and recreation keep the local economy alive.

Stop by Clallam Bay in summer and you’ll find the area at its liveliest, with tourists finding excitement or relaxation in the varied recreational activities. Enjoy a day spent on its scenic beaches or stay overnight at one of the local lodgings or campsites.

Ramble along the 2-mile (3-kilometer) beach that runs between Sekiu and Clallam Bay. Wander the shore to see what has washed up from the Pacific. Look for resident birds such as puffins and marbled murrelets.

The rich waters of Clallam Bay are a magnet for fishermen. Cast your line into the water and you might haul up salmon or halibut, or simply watch the professional anglers prowling the water from the shore. Adventurous travelers can go scuba diving and meet the colorful sea creatures in their habitat.

Clallam Bay is set on the dramatic northwest coast of the Olympic Peninsula, 50 miles (80 kilometers) west of Port Angeles. The drive from Port Angeles, which takes about an hour, is winding and incredibly scenic.

"Interesting area - first time there. 5th wheel was fine. The unit we were in was right next to the main road so was pretty noisy. Convenient to the Circle K ( right next door) and hamburger place across the street. Trailer was connected to power and sewer so no issues."
