"I really used to like this hotel as its in a beautiful location. I won't go back unless they buck there ideas up, check in was 4pm, room not ready after driving for 5 hours, no bar open and it's miles away from Inveraray, 5pm given a room key and found out it hadn't been cleaned. Bar opened 5pm my husband got me a drink and manager or owner (he turned up about 16.50 ) said by the time we had the drink our alternative room would be ready. We were not the only ones waiting at least another 5 or 6...

Service was rather mixed - from the mostly proactive, friendly helpful to the slightly 1970s approach to Scottish hospitality whether in attitude to serving or poor restocking of the breakfast buffet. The cooked breakfasts were very good."

Room was very small - described as a standard double, but it would have been better to flag the size up and then expectations would be better managed! No breakfast on site, but we were given a takeaway bag. Excellent recommendation to try the little green fish shack on the harbour - best prawn sandwich I have ever had. Oban itself is a lovely place with beautiful sceney and some interesting little shops."

Suggest two luggage racks. Appears others have used and scratched the cocktail table. Breakfast was well done, dinner needs to be booked - do so before arrival if an early time is required. Would be nice to have tablecloths at dinner. Bar made a good cocktail. Great location."
