"From check in till check out everything was pleasant. The staff was super friendly and was genuinely ready to assist me with whatever my need were. I got a birthday surprise (wine and cookies) because I mentioned my reason for the stay. They told me I could have called ahead so if you have a birthday when booking please mention it so you can get a room treat. The Saltwood restaurant has a great happy hour. I didn't care for the room service breakfast meals but that doesn't take away my feelings about the resort overall. Everything was lovely and I would recommend this place for a solo trip, couples trip, girls stay in etc. Grateful to have had the opportunity to stay at the Sanctuary. The name speaks for itself. Go check them out! "

"For the price it was just right. The shower enclosure was basic, like what you’d find at your grandmas house. The water pressure wasn’t the greatest but it got the job done. There was damage to the back of the bathroom door that looked like a rush job and was sloppy. I booked it because there was a breakfast offered but we couldn’t find it - no signage. Again, it was ok for the price and it got the job done. "

"The property and service were amazing. The breakfast felt like a brunch for a milestone event. However, my room was 76 degrees because the air condition was not working in the master bedroom. The hotel was booked and they could not get me another room so they brought a fan. It was a miserable night of sleep. Customer service DID NOT make it right. They gave me 10,000 points like that made up for my time there."

"The room was great and larger than most we have stayed in. Bed was very comfortable. Room had all the amenities. If there was a down side it would be parking. rather tight and limited but we worked around that."

"The staff was friendly, the room was very clean and the towels were surprisingly soft. The amount of parking spaces do not equal the amount of rooms so at the end of the day the parking spots fill up fast, we had to park in the neighboring restaurant lot. The pool is currently under construction, but due to weather we wouldn’t have used it. The grounds were very clean and well tended. We booked another night. "

"The air conditioner worked fine and parking was okay. Thank goodness for a ceiling fan. Even though there are signs everywhere about no smoking, the room smelled like pot every single day. When we reported it all the staff said was we’ll watch the cameras. On our last day there when we returned to the room for a short time we saw the guest stand outside, in front of the room smoking. It was a horrible smell that was constantly there. Also, we were there 5 days when we had house keeping clean (one day during our stay) all they did was refold the hand towels. It’s unclear if we even got new bath towels. Over all it was not a place I would personally recommend for someone to stay. "

"Pro- Clean, quiet, safe place, and the front staff is nice. Parking is great (you park in the front of your room). Having a Microwave Con - no staff at night, furniture worn off, no bathtub (I am okay with it), but the shower place is smaller than usual(I think it depends on the room you select - I selected a basic room). Overall, it was a good place for me to stay (under budget) since I enjoyed my trip in Big Sur. I would use it again.. "

"Did not meet expectations. Facility needs more upkeep and general maintenance, mostly on the exterior and outdoor areas. Stayed in building Q, which had litter and some trash in the open hallway for the 3 nights we were there. The 2 bedroom queen with patio room was spacious and pretty nice I side, except for the numerous spots where the wallpaper was peeling. The dirty dusty grimy patio, and the shower head that wouldn't stay in place (pole kept dropping down). Pool was a nice temperature, but there were no towels available (sometimes for hours, 2 of the 3 nights). Restaurant onsite was pricey but pretty tasty. Pickle ball courts were abundant and free to borrow equipment to play."
