Reception staff is responsive to your requests and can recommend restaurants serving local specialties. "Richard, Benjamin, and all the staff were perfect! Exceeded our expectations. Richard helped to coordinate reasonably priced taxis to/from the hotel and Benjamin checked us in smoothly. The welcome profiteroles were a stunning surprise. As AMEX members, there was a free upgrade so we enjoyed a beautiful lanai overlooking the front of the hotel; early check-in and late checkout as members were well received The bellhops were very warm and accommodating. While we were only visiting for an evening, our visit at the hotel was unforgettable. We will definitely be back to this charming city and this beautiful hotel. "

"One room was nice. The other room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. We requested a taxi for 4:15 am. The desk clerk said he would arrange it. The taxi never came and the nighttime contact numbers were recordings. We were luckily able to catch a bus to the airport. "

"Very spacious rooms (especially for a European hotel in a smallish city), comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. They are not fancy, however, and there aren't a lot of unnecessary amenities -- don't expect a lot of bells and whistles, just a solid traditional hotel with friendly staff. The beds and pillows were a bit too soft for me, but may be perfect for you. The breakfast is very filling and tasty, with a surprising amount of variety -- especially worth getting in such a small town with relatively few morning options. The bells from the church across the street are definitely audible -- and start early and end late on weekends -- but didn't really bother my friends and I too much. Given the location and the price, this is an excellent choice for your trip to Meissen."

"Parking was great right next to my window. The hotel is out of town but convenient for commuting. No dinner so had to go out. Room functional. Staff were very friendly and helpful "
