Very nice close to beach.
Close to beach. Seaweed a problem but taken care of daily if not creates an odor. Few bugs taken care of by the exterminator. Roaches. Was told this condo had been closed up. S Overall the stay was nice.
The room was open, airy, and had nice air conditioning. Very expansive porch with shutters, and two entrances- one from the living room and one from the master. The seaweed that comes to shore during this season was cleaned promptly every morning. The Front Desk was very nice and I enjoyed speaking with all of them. The pool was clean and always open. The only problem I had was that during half of my stay, I had no running water..and with no notice or advisement from the front desk. So, when I come in off the ocean, I cannot take a bath..or when I wake up, I cannot brush my teeth. HUGE PROBLEM. They could have also called the room- but wait- the room phone was disconnected. They also could have left a notice on the door, knocked and told me, something. That way I would have known to get cleaned up and cooked breakfast at 5AM before the workers came and turned off the water. I am not happy about that. Suggestions to other travelers- If your flight is coming in after 5PM, call or email the front desk and they will leave your keys and welcome packet with the security guard that works when they are closed. He is an employee and is very knowledgeable about the rooms and the area. If you can have dry groceries, toiletries, reef safe sunscreen and water shipped to STX before you get there and held at the post office DO IT. Bottled water is hard to find, and when you can find it, it is 2.00 for a 20 ounce bottle. Bring a underwater camera. They have snorkels in the room.
We were in town for a friends wedding this past weekend. I did alot of looking at hotels/condos to rent and decided on Sugar Beach. We could not be happier with the resort and the staff. Everyone was very friendly, informational and helpful. We were able to borrow kayak's and they allowed us to stay in a beachfront walkout (highly recommended). Also we spent time at a few other resorts and the beach at Sugar Beach is the nicest! If I ever return to St. Croix this is the only place I'd book!

It was a one night stay. Pleasant condo right on the beach. Condos are older and there is wear. The washera worked as opposed to last weekends one night stayover.
The office closed when we arrived at 5. They close at 6. Tried four times to call to say we would be running later than check in time. Left messages to call. When we arrived we walked around to the back of the office pool area and the person to check us in was on the phone with his girlfriend. Finally got his attn. he was short curt and not friendly at all. The condo had roaches. Couldn't pull drapes shut so bright lights came in while trying to sleep. SO HAPPY we only stayed that one night!!!

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
TV and AC not working on arrival. Phone never worked, but internet connect was good so the non-working land line was not a major issue. Overall, the condo unit needed some updates but suited my needs for four days at a reasonable price.
How sweet it is!

Quelle belle ville ancestrale !
Lunch chez Harvey’s. Très bonne bouffe locale. Un must !
Achats : Baci – cigars et rhum. Eden South – confitures et sauces.
Nous recommandons Sugar Beach Condo. Magnifique.
Même sans voiture.

Easy beach access
We were able to open our door and walk out onto the beach. The view was amazing! Our condo needed some upgrades but it was comfortable. The pool was great!

I recommend sugar beach resort, great staff, right off the beach
Just spent one night, but the location's nearness to court was perfect for me, beautiful view. Friendly staff. Only con is that the room had a bit of a musty smell, though honestly, this should be expected from beachfront properties. Running the AC for a while made it much better. Would definitely use again.
Great view. This place is ok if you remember the carribean is not pristine living quarters but beauty in nature.
I did not like the drive through abandoned buildings each time we went anywhere. Peublos market was scary with loiterers.
The condo itself was probably nice compared to neighbors. But on arrival the smoke detector was broken, AC rained after a few hours through a peeling ceiling, ants in kitchen, bugs krept into kids room under the glass door. No towels were laundered during our week stay unless by me.
We managed to have a good time but tried to leave a day early but no flights for us.
If you like camping in really hot sticky conditions this place is great. If you are more uptight about clean quarters, no. Unit 202 needs work.
The reception desk was most friendly however no offer to move us or repairs made.

Quiet and welcoming hotel at the beach.
Nice and quiet. Unfortunately they had not been able to see our request for two single beds. We had an extra bed rolled in and one night for free. Hotel owner drove us when we could not get a cap. All together very friendly and welcoming service.
Arrive at 5:30 pm the guy in office was in a hurry to leave, check in time to late, never see staff, not even a vending machine, room to old and floor tile broke
Sugar Beach is a condomium complex, we stayed in a 3 bedroom with 3 bathrooms. It was plenty of space for myself and my husband with 2 teenage children and mother in law. Yes the condo had an ocean view, but we were not informed the beach was not usable due to the Sargasum Seaweed, it is brown and smells like sulfur! We rented a car to go to the other end of St Croix to use the beaches there. The staff very helpful also the grounds well kept. The maid was suppose to come and clean up one day, she only changed the sheets and towels. The floor was not mopped or any vacuming done. We were aware it was one time only, we did our dishes and had to sweep the floor. The water stains the bath tubs, called maintaince who did come in to clean the tubs. We were in unit 203. The owners in unit 303 were doing repairs, we were not worned of this, drilling at 8 a.m. over our heads, not what you want on vacation. It is in walking distance to a supermarket and a some fast food restaurants. The pool was well kept. My teenage were bored no activties like a hotel. My mother in law enjoyed the view from the patio. The unit we stayed in needed a lot of work, ceiling in masterbedroom need repair also the ceiling in hallway. The air-conditioner leaks.
We really enjoyed our stay at Sugar Beach. We had a very nice view of the harbor with a wonderful ocean breeze. The condo was fully furnished allowing us to prepare our own meals. I hated to leave Sugar Beach and St. Croix.
We started out in a top floor unit (309) then moved down to a beach level unit (114) half way through our stay. The top level unit showed some wear similar to most hotel rooms but we were pleased overall. High ceilings, a beautiful ocean view, and an ocean breeze through the unit. The beach level unit had been updated more recently so it was a little better when it came to the details. It was nice to be able to walk out to the beach from the patio but both locations had nice things about them. The resort has a long, beautiful beach front. Sea grass does wash up on the shoreline but that is just part of that ecosystem. We just stepped over it to get in the water. The waves break on a reef that is out 100 or more yards so it is calm at the beach. We saw conch, stars, Rays, urchins, fish while snorkeling but you have to get out there 50 or more yards before you start seeing this stuff. As far as location, there is some poverty in the area. However, we were all over the island and poverty is everywhere. Saint Croix is suffering the recent closing of a huge oil refinery....lots of good jobs were lost. In summary, we would go back. If you want perfection, there are places on the island that specialize in that.
Dejlig lejlighed med terrasse og havudsigt. Havvandet var nogle dage grumset men der var en dejlig swimmingpool. Afstand til byen ca.2 km. God restaurant i naboområdet.
