"We stayed in a deluxe room and whilst it was kept clean by the staff, the room was tired and in need of some attention. It could also have done with some soft furnishings to make it feel a bit cosier. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel but went up to the bar for a drink. Lovely views of Palermo. Great location and close to bus routes and the airport bus stop was about a 1 minute walk away."

"Spent 3 days there and I wish I had more time. Basic but lovely hotel and staff were great. Pool was gorgeous and it was nice and tranquil. Rooms cleaned everyday. Maybe more wall sockets by bedside locker would be good but otherwise I can’t fault it Thank you to all the staff"

"So after arriving from A 24 hr travel to get there, we just wanted to get to our room which was a beautiful kingsize bed and view of the water….We were asked over and over if we wanted to see the junior suit. We said sure but was not told the price…when we saw our room originally we loved it… then she brought us to see the upgrade room and continued to say we can do it for 500 more… I told my husband something is up… it can’t be… I said no at first and she kept saying only 500 more and we said ok fine… we signed that it was 500 more for the up grade. We were tired and got in very late and were hungry so we wanted to begin our vacation. I in the back of my mind thought wow this is amazing but something is up. When we checked out we were slapped with a bill of DOUBLE THE AMOUNT WE ORIGINALLY HAD! So we told them we would have Never of upgraded in the first place but she told us 500 more. We went back and forth and even though after MUCH EMBARRASSMENT WE PAID 500 a night..1500more which we should have never accepted but at this point we had to settle up and needed to leave. The paper at the bottom we signed said small letters AMOUNT ONTOP OF…the price looked the same as the original with 500 more. VERY deceiving …We were taken advantage of. I should have filmed her saying over and over only 500 more. Also just should have stuck to my gut and said NO!"

"Breakfast was OUTSTANDING (especially loved the variety of fresh fruits, yoghurts and the juices- traditional Italian breakfasts can be very pastry-heavy!), and also the best air con of any of the places we stayed whilst in Sicily (no need to set the temperature as low as you think!). Lovely comfortable room and helpful staff. The location is quiet, and would be perfect if you are coming by car. Lovely little local shop 2 minutes away who can make you up sandwiches to take to the beach / on your days out (open mornings till about 2pm, and then evenings 5-8pm). For public transport users like ourselves, note that this town is quite spread out (large blocks), and in the July heat, that means it is quite far and quite uncomfortable to walk around much. Taxis don't seem that easily available (although the hotel helped arrange our taxi back to Palermo on departure- we'd arrived by bus but couldn't face the walk and two bus journey in the heat for return). It would be ideal if this hotel could offer rental bikes, as that would make a big difference to getting around Modello. Our bathroom was across the corridor, which was not a problem other than there was no slide lock on the inside of the door- the only way to close it was with the same room key. Not a big deal, but a slide lock on the inside would be an improvement. Overall, very charming place to stay, but location not so convenient without a car if you are coming in the hottest months."

Villa Lampedusa Hotel & Residence

"Our stay at Villa Lampedusa Hotel & Residence was perfectly fine and actually better than we expected. We chose it because of its convenient location near the airport for the last night of a long trip, and it served that purpose well. The room and bathroom were both spacious and generally clean, although the property could benefit from some updating. It has a lot of potential with a few renovations. The entrance and parking area are a bit unusual. Parking is in a large dirt lot with little to no driving signage, which can be confusing when you first arrive. One highlight is the lively restaurant and event venue right next door, which had a great atmosphere during our stay. Aside from that neighboring venue, there isn’t much within walking distance, so the area can feel somewhat isolated. The hotel does have a pleasant courtyard where the rooms open onto shared outdoor space with tables, lounge chairs, and umbrellas, making it a nice place to relax. Breakfast is available in the reception area, where there are just a few small tables, but we weren’t able to try it because we had an early flight. We also got the impression that the property is not staffed around the clock. Other than during check-in, we didn’t see any staff members for the rest of our stay. Overall, it’s a comfortable and practical choice for travelers looking for a convenient stay near the airport, with spacious accommodations and a few charming features despite needing some modernization."
