"Breakfast selection was standard for a HI express. Unfortunately in this hotels case, all of the bread, and especially the bread rolls were too stale to have eaten. Eating in the restaurant in the evening was a very slow process. Over 45 minutes to receive any food. Some people waited over an hour. Room was not particularly clean, debris on the carpet, and a general feeling of rushed housekeeping. Found a child’s teddy bear under the bed, and the staff couldn’t have seemed less bothered. Air conditioning in the room didn’t work, and both bedside lights were so poor that candles would have been a better option. "

"You pay for basic you get basic, that’s not a bad thing though. The hotel is clean and warm the staff are friendly and helpful, parking is easy and on site. Great view and easy to get too. I would stay here again."

"I recently stayed at Eastwell and it truly is such a beautiful, special place. The setting is stunning and feels very peaceful overall. I stayed in one of the cottages/rooms in the stables, which was lovely, although the soundproofing wasn’t great. This isn’t something the hotel can really control, but it did impact the stay a bit. On the first morning, I was woken at 5:45am by someone locked out pressing the bell repeatedly, and on the second morning you could hear a lot of noise from neighbouring guests very early—talking, moving around, hairdryers, TV, and doors slamming before 7:30am. So i set off early on my 5hr drive home! That said, the staff were absolutely amazing and really made the experience special. We had a group gathering in one of the rooms, and the afternoon tea was lovely. Imogen, who looked after us, was wonderful—so attentive and thoughtful throughout. The cocktails were also fabulous, expertly made by the female mixologist. One small point of feedback but would mean a lot to the family would be that it would be nice to see the spelling of “Brodrick” corrected, as this is the family name that once owned the estate before it became a hotel. Overall, a beautiful place with fantastic staff, just a few things that slightly affected the stay."

"Hotel was very quiet as it was a Sunday - it is also currently being renovated - I wasn’t offered a refurbished room until I asked specifically if any were available after I had already checked in. Old room was very dated, had a creaky floor, tap dripping and whistling extractor fan in bathroom. I’m not sure if the newer room we had was same grade as much smaller room size and double rather than king size bed. Decor much better and bathroom nice. Breakfast buffet was poor, my partner gave the full English 3/10 - quite a small portion served. machine coffee like dishwater - not proper filter coffee. Service was good but there were less than 10 people dining so not sure how it would be on a busy day with one staff member. Plus point was free parking and only 10 minute walk into town. Would maybe go back when renovations completed. "
