"The property itself was spotless. I didn't see a speck of dust. It is obviously cleaned pretty much daily. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was good. The kitchen was clean and had everything you needed. I would add some baking trays and oven gloves but apart from that it was great! The bedroom was clean and tidy. The windows had all been opened beforehand to air out the house. Towels were provided for each person which was handy as my girls forgot theirs. The beds were quite hard but...

"A lovely old place to stay if you're looking for something different from a Premier inn for a change. Parking available outside the hotel for a reasonable £6/24hrs. Room was a good size and clean, great shower, and a hearty breakfast. Location in central Buxton was perfect."

"Nice hotel in the centre of Stafford. Nice restaurant/ bar setting. Didn’t eat there but wine was good quality and reasonably priced. Room was reasonable. Bit tired looking but generally to a good standard. View wasn’t great (brick wall) but that’s no-one’s fault. Bed was firm, pillows soft. Good TV and hot drink making facilities. Breakfast was faultless along with very good polite service. Would stay again."

"The stand out feature is definitely the excellent spa with 3 pools including an indoor/outdoor rooftop pool, 3 different types of saunas, ice showers, steam room, relaxation room and various treatment rooms. The hotel lounges and bar areas are OK but not overly cosy and welcoming - that's not to say they're bad - just OK. Rooms were clean and included bottles of Buxton water, tea and coffee and a couple of biscuits. We did have to ask to get some toiletries refreshed but that was fixed pretty quickly with apologies. Breakfast options are again reasonable but why only Mothers Pride style bread?? You get buffet with cereals, yogurts, pastries, some fruit, porridge on request, various cooked options. Not all items on the breakfast card were available. The staff were very friendly and hard working - hence the slightly slow service on occasion . Location is excellent and it's easy to park for drop off although you may want to park elsewhere to avoid £30/night valet parking. (Off street may have limited time up to 4 hours but generally free from after 6pm until 8am)."

"The reception staff were very friendly and helpful when asking for additional pillows ( only 1 pp provided). The breakfast was good and tasty and plenty of attentive staff if needed. The hotel rooms however are very tired with very poor decor standards. Tiles in the bathroom were miss-matched and grubby and flooring lifting in places. Was surprised to have to pay £5 to park the car as a resident though"

"Lovely hotel, fantastic location. Well decorated, comfy twin room but disappointingly, in the annex. Not in the main hotel. IMO, on the expensive side. £500 2 x nights, especially as it was 'room only'. Also, hardly any parking on site. Forced to park in public car park.My fault. Should have paid more attention when booking."
