"Everything at Hotel Shanker is truly great. I really feel at home in this beautiful hotel. The staff are magnificent and everyone is so friendly and helpful. The architecture of this old historical palace is stunning. The entrance and lobby is so beautiful and great for photos. The garden in front is wonderful and the pool is terrific. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Shanker. It’s the only place I stay when visiting Kathmandu. I’m already looking forward to a return visit!! Thank you Hotel Shanker for treating me so well and giving me such great memories and photos!!"

"Stayed here for a week and had no complaints! Lovely decorated hotel with lots of natural light in the room. It has a heater/air con and good hot water. Staff are lovely and so helpful. They even helped me wrap a sari one day. Breakfasts were great. It’s on the edge of Thamel far of a walk. My only issue an it is not just this hotel but there is no option to refill water bottles. They and others give you two big bottles per day which is horrible for the environment. Wish this hotel and others would take the lead and do better around this. Otherwise highly recommend this hotel. "
