"No swimming towels made available, told to make use of our bath towels. Swimming pool was dirty with crickets and dead frogs in it. The bath towels are old and hard. The bedding is stained with old marks. Paint is peeling off walls in unit. No-one emptied dustbins over a 2 days stay even though we placed this outside. Wine glasses on the shelf cracked. Iron was rusted and marked out clothing. Remote control for gate not working. Did not need or want to hear Receptionist’s work history....

"Upon arrival we realized this is not a farm but a little small holding. All units less than 15 feet from each other. A Large Barn is also right opposite the cottages where workers are staying. Drawers in kitchen not in good condition, small stove in a terrible condition. Dead ants in the cupboard. The Sunday morning the workers who stay in the barn opposite the cottages were painting and playing terrible and very loud music. This was not a nice Sunday morning on a farm. "We had booked this property as a stayover for my mum who was needing to be at the hospital nearby early the next morning. The day of booking the property the owner called after 9pm to enquire where the payment was to which we explained it was purchased on hotels.com AND that the trip was for my SICK mother. Contact met Vicky van de Farmhouse Guest rooms ging prima. Soms een tikkie stug, maar als je wat langer praat ook gewoon heel vriendelijk. We hebben een Game Drive met Esmeralda gedaan en dat was fantastisch. Heel vriendelijk en een prachtige drive, veel informatie en ondanks dat ze niet de Big Five hebben, voelde het soms zelfs meer bijzonder...

I had no view from my room (no. 1) but I can't blame The Habit for that - the location is very convenient, being in the town, and sitting on the patio to eat supper it was easy to forget where I was.
