"On May 21-23 I had booked two rooms, we were staying at the hotel for state track. One room we had zero problems with, the second was a total mess. First, i was assigned to a room with an AC unit that didn't work and maintenance was unable to fix it. They tried to move me to a room that was occupied and then to a room where the AC unit wasn't even hooked up and eventually brought in a portable AC unit. I left the room and came back and my cards would not work, went to front desk who said they worked and again tried and they didn't work. Maintenance told me the card reader was programmed incorrectly and I'd be moved to a different room in the morning. The next morning I spoke to someone at the front desk who got me moved to a room where everything worked and he stated that I'd be reimbursed some for my room and inconvenience. I never was reimbursed anything, my card was charged for the full amount. That Thursday night I put on about 3000 steps running around that hotel dealing with this from about 9pm until about 10:30 pm. I was as patient and understanding as I could be during this whole mess but this is not acceptable."

"I had low expectations for the property. I’ve stayed at other America’s Best Value locations years ago and they were awful. However, this property was fabulous! The room was clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast in the morning was great. I’d definitely recommend and stay here again."

"The cooling tower was on the fritz, so the entire property was like 80°, but my room actually had functional AC, so I stayed comfortable! The place is a little run down, but the price is right and it's very central to everything, especially all the Sanford locations. I didn't use the outdoor pool, but it looked clean. Unfortunately the grass around it was knee high. It just looked as if they hadn't had a chance to catch up on general maintenance since winter, and I can't fault them for that. They were giving out free ice cream in the lobby to help combat the heat, and I'm sure that was much appreciated by those who didn't have functional AC!"

"We were not informed when booking that the water slides and pool were closed. One of the main reasons for booking there. We stayed for 4 days and housekeeping never came once to our room! Not once! Unexceptionable!!! The room was clean when we arrived. The beds were comfortable. But service was lousy. I can see not cleaning stay over guests every day but not one time in 4 days?! We had to go get our own towels and empty our own garbage."

"This was the most expensive hotel I stayed at during my 10-day road trip, yet unfortunately it was the worst experience of the three. The biggest issue was the overwhelming chemical cleaner smell in the room. It was so strong that every item in my suitcase — even clean clothes I never wore — absorbed the odor, and I had to wash everything when I got home. I’ve never experienced anything like that in a hotel before. I was also surprised that the HVAC system did not allow the fan to run continuously. I rely on white noise to sleep, and every hotel I’ve stayed in before has offered a constant fan option. The room becoming completely silent allowed me to hear every noise both in and outside of the hotel, which made for a rough night's sleep and 6AM flight departure. In addition, the entrance area, elevator, and hallway floors needed swept. Overall, this hotel felt extremely overpriced for the experience provided. The strong odor alone would keep me from staying here again."
