"The original booking was for Tierra Roja, but the hotel was in a bad section of town and down very muddy roads. The hotel manager sent us to another hotel they managed, but didn’t adjust the price until we noticed that it was listed for quite a bit less on hotels.com. They agreed to a partial refund and we thought everything was fine. We were the only ones staying there and the lady who took care of the hotel left early. Just before midnight someone tried to break into our room. We scared them away and called the manager who was in another town didn’t answer right away. She sent the police, but the culprit had escaped. We tried communicating with the manager by phone and messaging, but she never responded so we spent a sleepless night worrying if they would return, locked in our room. The manager never answered our calls and we left early the next morning."

"We had a great stay in this hotel. The layout is great. The rooms are filled with a feeling of history. The pool is lovely. Breakfast was substantial and tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful. A very short walk and you are in the central square of one of the most beautiful towns in Latin America. What more could you want. A quick thanks to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so memorable. Until next time. Muchas gracias."
