If you need cheap and don’t care of unsafe area then good for you no parking must leave car on street a lot of theft tagged walls on building old building not really a safe place if traveling with companion my wife didn’t feel comfortable plus did not want our rental to get stolen or crashed well parked again I would not stay there we ended up taking a loss on this and booked another hotel in area no refund

Location fantastica vicino a Piazza Duomo, Monastero dei Benedettini, casa di Giovanni Verga. A pochissimi minuti c'è una ottima pasticceria/panetteria, si trovano prodotti buonissimi, è chiusa il lunedì. Camera pulita, bagno piccolo pulito, mi sono trovata benissimo. Colazione portata in camera, buona. Mina e la signora Carmela sono gentilissime e disponibili. Ci tornerò e lo consiglio.

Questo b&b è molto carino, pulito, situato a 5 minuti di cammino da piazza Duomo, la colazione è a mio avviso è ottima e abbondante, la si fa nella cucina dei proprietari e la signora, gentilissima, prepara anche torte fatte in casa. Siccome si trova al secondo piano di un palazzo senza ascensore bisogna tenere conto che bisogna farsi delle rampe di scale a piedi, comunque per me non è stato un problema. Se dovessi tornare a Catania mi piacerebbe tornare qui!!!!

Lovely Italian B&B

We had a lovely stay at La Zagara, the owners are very friendly and hospitable and can’t do enough for you. The owners asked us on arrival and each evening what time we would like breakfast the following morning and put on a typical Italian continental breakfast for us. Our room was spacious with a small balcony and washing line. Room was clean, comfortable had a boutique feel to it. There was a TV, air con, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. La Zagara is only a short walk from the main square and there is a bus stop which is just outside La Zagara. There is a small shop opposite La Zagara. B&B is upstairs so could be tricky for those with mobility issues.

a reasonable place to stay

The entrance to the building may mislead you, but once you reach the right floor, everything is exactly as presented in the pictures. The room was neat, the bathroom was enough (tight shower cabin), but otherwise okay - independently working AC, everyday cleaning and change of towels (expect on Sundays). The owners were on site and took good care of me, despite having limited English vocabulary or none at all. I could always count on a cup of coffee and something to eat, whether it was my declared breakfast time or two hours later. The scanning of a document took place at the beginning and the payment at the end. The room I stayed in (the red one) had a window facing a back alley and it was quiet from outside, but you could hear the refrigerator working in the adjacent room. For someone with sensitive hearing it wasn't unbearable, though - you'd rather wake up to the sounds of other guests coming out of their rooms or chatting in the kitchen. The neighbourhood was nothing special, just a busy street, but no one at night to bother you. Overall a reasonable place to stay with all the necessary accommodations.
