"Affordable and quaint little historic place on Catalina, and I would stay there again. One word of warning is if you’re coming in later in the day make sure you check in before 6 PM because the front desk was closed at 6 PM and we were worried about being able to get into our rooms and I feel like we got lucky when somebody came by to let us in after worrying about it and making calls for 30 mins. The number that was on the sign at the front desk was an answering service and nobody called us back. So yes, make sure you check in early but otherwise good experience."

"Nice hotel right off Crescent Ave, which is the main road coming into Avalon from the ferry. Our room had a balcony which was nice to open up to the ocean breezes. It was nice to be within walking distance of everything. The staff were nice and helpful. The place underwent a renovation a few years ago so the place is still in pretty decent condition. Modern shower and vanity. Cutesy island-ish room. I don't know why people are raving about the breakfast, but it's just a little more than basic continental. The Catalina Coffee & Cookie company right outside the hotel is really good though. Great cold brew and breakfast sandwiches/burritos. Get there early, though, because there is always a line after 10AM."
