Glenmore Plaza Hotel
5/5 Excellent
"We enjoyed the location. It was within walking distance to the beach/bay. The room had a view overlooking the street/main entrance. They offered a free light breakfast (bagel/muffin, coffee/juice). And there are restaurants within walking distance, with more complete menu of options, which we opted for.
The staff were great. And the hotel is historical.
Upon arrival you should know there is no elevator. So be prepared to hike the classic stairs if you're on the upper 3rd and 4th floors.
If you want peace and quiet, it is a little noisy after sundown, if you're in a room facing the street. I suggest turning on the TV app YouTube for "sleep sounds". This helped while sleeping through the nights, drowning out the vehicles/noisy people out on the street below.
The King bedroom with mini couch pullout was nice. It's perfect for 2 adults and a kid. It has a mini fridge and microwave.. but no coffee maker (coffee shops are just down the strip). The window blinds were problematic and needed careful finessing to open/close (a couple needed replacing). The telephone system was not working and the TV had no cable/satellite connection anymore. However we were able to watch some movies on some of the apps listed, once turned on (Tubi, Pluto). The bathroom shower was huge with an extra rainfall shower head.. however the knobs/use of them were mysterious (push, pull, turn, etc).
All in all it was a good place to stay. I heard its better than the hotel across the street. "
