"The location was extremely convenient to the whale watching on Fisherman's Wharf and shops around the area coffee shops restaurants. We loved the antique furniture and atmosphere was welcoming. We will stay there again due to location cleanliness price was right helpful staff."

"Loved the relaxed vibe of the lobby area and the open plan to the dining room. The cleaning staff did a great job on being efficient and quick when cleaning our room. Coffee dock did really nice coffee and quiche!"

"The place was good and clean but they charged me for something they don’t even know what it’s about. I called and said i was not charged for anything extra but my credit card was charged extra for 2 rooms that I booked. They said it will be reimbursed after 10days but it’s been more than that and they don’t even know what those charges are for."

"We were so pleased with our stay. The motel is kept in excellent condition both inside and out. There is a pool, vending machines, and a laundry room. We will definitely stay there again!"

"There was blood everywhere and the water was white and dirty. There was men digging outside and the parking lot was a mess. The woman manager was extremely rude and didn’t want my service dog around because she is scared of dogs. They charged my son and promised refund that he never got. Housekeeper and manager walk in the rooms without knocking even with a do not disturb sign. They overwork one young housekeeper and I had to purchase my own linens and cleaning supplies."

"I really wanted to like Lone Oak Lodge because we had such a great time in Monterey overall—but unfortunately, the stay here was disappointing. The biggest issue was the spa situation. The listing advertises an indoor spa, which gave us the impression it was available to guests. In reality, it’s only accessible if you pay extra for a private spa room—and those were mostly booked. We ended up paying additional just to use it for one night, which felt misleading and frustrating. Another issue was the water—it had a strange “soapy” feel that made showers uncomfortable. It didn’t feel clean, which is a big deal when you’re staying somewhere for multiple nights. The room itself was just okay. Nothing terrible, but nothing that justified the price either. There wasn’t even a tea kettle provided, which felt like a basic amenity that should be included. To be fair, the staff was decent and not the problem—but overall, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. For the price, I wish we had stayed at Best Western De Anza Inn instead, which offers a more accessible spa, includes breakfast, and is more affordable. Overall, pretty disappointing. Monterey was amazing—but this stay definitely wasn’t the highlight."
