Enjoyable two night stay. Good cooked breakfast with free range eggs. Our room had great views over Loch Ken and the surrounding countryside. Enjoyable to sit in the conservatory watching the little birds at the feeders. Excellent location for the Galloway red kite trail including the Bellymack Farm feeding station which is well worth a visit. Comfortable, clean accommodation and greeted with a welcome cup of tea on arrival.
The owner met me at the door, welcomed me and showed me my room. The room was exactly what I needed. A quiet location. A great stay. I would definitely stay again when in the area. Thanks
A lovey stay in a beautiful setting. Mandy was a great host, the correct amount of attention, lovely and welcoming with a sense of humour. Great breakfast
A beautiful property with truly wonderful hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Facilities were great, breakfast was delicious and recommendations were good.
Mick and Mandy were very welcoming and could not have been more helpful. The accommodation was roomy, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were well prepared and presented plus there was an excellent choice. The farm is well situated for exploring the surrounding area and both Mick and Mandy had good knowledge and able to offer excellent advice and when needed directions. We would definitely try and book again if ever in the area.
I spent one night in Castle Dougls at airds farm. Upon arrival, as I turned off the highway and onto the farm road I was greeted by the most docile herd of cows that gently moved out of my way. The place had stunning views, the room was perfect, cozy, warm and quiet. My breakfast was delish and above all the hospitality shown to me was bar none.
Friendly welcome and service. Breakfast was excellent. The area is beautiful and full of history if you are looking for that. A brilliant stay apart from England losing to Belgium in the World Cup!.
Looking for somewhere reasonable to stay while visiting Dumfries & Galloway.
Really friendly host and happy to do anything for us.
Be aware it’s in a quiet and fairly remote location but as on a farm you’d expect nothing else. Was great for what we needed.
Welcoming, Warm and friendly, from the moment we arrived, Mandy came out to greet us and then showed us to our room, the room was lovely and also spotless the room we booked had a fantastic view across to loch Ken, we then got invited down to the conservatory for a lovely needed cup of tea after a long journey, Mandy & Mick came and joined us and we felt we had known then a long time, so friendly and answered a lot of our questions as we were viewing a property, we only stayed one night but would of loved to of stayed more, The breakfast was lovely and there is plenty to choose from ranging from toast, cereal, fruit, yogurt and of course a full English to which my other half said it's the best his had. All in all a five out of five B&B would definitely stayed again.
The owner (so sorry I've forgotten the name) was lovely very friendly and helpful even cooking me a slimming world breakfast. What a beautiful place in a beautiful setting. Would not hesitate to go back :)
