"This is an old historic pub with accommodations. The staff was very nice and helpful, the room was small but well appointed, comfortable and clean..large bathroom. We were surprised by how quiet it was despite being over the pub and on a busy street. We had dinner one evening and food was delicious. There is a nice terrace. The location is perfect...close walking distance to everything. We really enjoyed our stay."

"We stayed for one night and were very pleased with our choice. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Ok, it is a little dated but on the other hand the building is full of history and character. Parking on site at a discounted price very much appreciated considering its town centre location. There is no breakfast or restaurant facility, but who would not want to venture the few yards outside the hotel where you are spoilt for choice for lovely wide ranging places to eat. Look forward to staying here again."

"My wife and I stayed at the Prince Rupert Hotel for one night and we were delighted by its location (right in the centre of town), its cleanliness and the charming staff. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast there. We did find that our room and some of the hotel decoration was 'tired' and could do with a touch up - but that is a small quibble about a historic hotel and should not detract from our very enjoyable stay. Parking was relatively easy - we checked in at hotel reception and they directed us to their open-air car-park a few streets away (£10 per night). A word of warning!!!! The hotel is in the middle of a number of one-way streets and can be difficult to find by car. The hotel MUST be approached via Fish Street off Wyle Cop. Do NOT approach it via Church Street off St Mary's Street as Church Street is one-way - the wrong way. If you do happen to drive up Church Street the wrong way, then you must hope to meet a charming Civil Enforcement Officer who will, quite rightly, admonish you but, seeing your genuine contriteness and stress, may take pity on you and not give you a Penalty Charge Notice!"
