"This is THE best B&B i’ve ever stayed at. Alessandro and Cinzia really looked after me - going above and beyond to make me feel safe, welcome and at home. I had a different delicious breakfast prepared every morning and brought to me on my patio. Alessandro regularly checked in on me, gave me advice on places to go and eat to help plan my itinerary for my trip. "Stayed here for one night. Grounds are very pretty and hotel is based on the side of quite a steep hill so quite a lot of stairs and ramps. There are some lifts to parts of property but not all and they are in odd locations, for example one led to a pitch black banquet hall that you needed to pass through. "to begin with I have to admit I liked the 501 against my better judgement at times but the location and views allows a lot to be forgiven. I can imagine the 501 in its glory days would have been spectacular. the architecture is still on place and quality never goes out of style. however the old girl does look a little tired and could benefit from a little renovation in places. the staff, mainly Italian or course and many locals, can be a little abrupt or disinterested when they are busy...
