"We had a fantastic time! Orlando (the owner), his family, and all of the staff were so kind and welcoming! We really enjoyed the thermal longevity circuit, plus we went tubing down the river which was a blast too! On day 2 we did the cultural coffee, chocolate, tortilla demonstration and we also went on a short hike through the trail where Orlando helped us spot a sloth! "We stayed one night in July on our way through, and we would have loved an additional night or two. Such a beautiful property - comfortable room, delicious food, clean pool, helpful staff, and lots of wildlife around to enjoy! Our young kids loved the playground near the restaurant, too. I can't say enough good things about this place. I look forward to staying here again. The wildlife rescue next door was also a highlight - don't miss it!"

"The overall set up of the building was very cool. Loved how the rooms were set apart from the main area, in our case, through an outdoor walkway. And what a great common area inside and outside on the deck! The deck overlooked the countryside. The breakfast options provided were wonderful and we felt well taken care of. The decor of the building and rooms was truly unique, loved the white stucco, open beams and coloured glass bead designs! Very comfortable, clean and accommodating stay."

"From the moment we got to the hotel until we left, the staff were wonderful. My family and I were greeted with freshly made juice blend that was delicious and our bags were taken to our room. We booked activities prior to arriving but wish we hadn’t because they help you with all of that as well, which includes transportation to and from the hotel. I highly recommend the night walk and zip line activities. We had to leave early in the morning due to an early afternoon flight out of San Jose, and they even packed us. Breakfast to go for that as well. My wife and I are looking forward to coming back as this was a very peaceful place. We took our six year old daughter and she loved it as well. It rained the entire time we were there but it does say cloud forest after all, so in a way, that was expected. I can’t wait to come back. Thank you for making our stay memorable."

"stayed in the sunrise room: really exceptional. It is a wonderful hotel, but overall, falling too much in love as to how fancy it is. Case in point: the Celajes Restaurant. Gorgeous sunset views. Wonderful starter. Then came the 40$ filet. Worst filet I ever had. It was chewy, rather than melting in your mouth as it should. Told the waiter ( more politely), who brought the chef. Rather than receiving an apology, I got a lecture and was made to pay the entire bill. Perhaps I was too polite? Anyways, can‘t fully recommend it at that price. Get of your horse, Hotel Belmar! It is a shame, because all the employees are trying so hard. Ah, also, the sunrise room is truly fantastic. But it creaks and rumbles when the wind is blowing outside. I didn’t mind, but some may find that disconcerting."
