"Horrible. I was able to make the reservation on Hotels.com. Once I arrived at the hotel, the hotel said they were totally booked. I had to search for another room for my family in the middle of the night. "

Disliked the heavy smell of marijuana from neighboring room when I turned on the bathroom fan. Took shower with light out because of that. Someone had placed a plastic bag over the smoke detector... Unable to find light switch at all when entering dark room. Had to find one in the bathroom area. Walkable from Metro Yellow line, but not straightforward navigating a dark very hilly park at night. Seemed safe, but who knows. Decent place to stay to visit DC area. Plenty of good parking. Clean enough. Toilet runned."

"I was apprehensive when I first started my stay at The Virginia Lodge. The marquis sign is missing light bulbs that reminds one of "missing teeth." Weeds grow from cracks in the parking lot and the base of buildings. My room needed a paint job as do the buildings outside. But as my stay progressed, I was impressed with the amenities provided. There is a microwave, refrigerator, cable TV and WIFI (though I did not use its WIFI). It's a pretty good value for the $62-69 per night stay that Expedia charged. Were it not for lack of property upkeep, The Virginia Lodge would be on par with the Holiday Inn."
