We stayed in the caravan which gave us a lot of privacy and it was a beautifully maintained caravan! We were provided heating so it was not at all cold. Decent tea/coffee making facilities. However, was slightly disappointed as the pictures showed a double bed, but when we arrived it was two singles. Beds are slightly small but this is expected in a caravan home.
Fantastic place to stay. The bed was a little hard for our liking but hey that’s the beauty and unknowns when staying else where. Super clean and convenient. Excellent hosts and great breakfast collection. We will def be back
Villa Shakespeare is a lovely place to stay, has that point of difference and the X factor. The recent addition of the breakfast room is a real bonus, what a brilliant idea! Would definitely return...
We payed for family cottage very small in size. Not happy with beds not comfortable although owners are really awesome very helpful. I recommend accommodation is good for only 2 people not for family.
My family stayed at the hathaway cottage for 2 nights and we had a great time. It was clean, the owner was very accommodating of our needs and the free breakfast with fresh fruits were excellent! Thanks
A great accomodation option which ticked the boxes for our little family. The host was very accomodating and responsive, and the help yourself breakfast worked really well. Very peaceful and quiet setting.
Loved the peaceful surroundings. It was also lovely to have the complimentary self serve breakfast- especially enjoyed the fresh fruit salad. The host was really nice and gave us helpful information on activities and facilities in the area. Also, the other guests were friendly and atmosphere was very relaxed. We had the use of a very cute cottage - the Anne Hathaway cottage. Everything that we needed had been thought of. Great stay.
I arrived very late and I went to the main house. April had stuck a message to her front door to tell me that my room was unlocked. I was shocked at what I encountered - not in a bad way but in a good way. I had booked ‘Much Ado’ and it was amazing. It was well decorated; everything looked fresh and it was homely! I originally booked one night but then I immediately booked a second online.
I couldn’t recommend this place any higher!
Have a look at my pictures because the standard of this room was brilliant. Just make sure when you speak to April, don’t allow her boy to slam the door shut on her because he was locked in and I had to break in to open the house as April was pregnant.
I attended a nineteenth century costume ball in Hamilton and booked the Shakespeare, a gorgeous Victorian B&B for the occasion. It was absolutely perfect (except that my partner had to cancel at the last minute and I was left alone). I will certainly recommend and would like to come back.

Liked: Cleanliness
Room and property better suited to couples more than a family of 4. No microwave in the room. No plates or cutlery and not enough cups or mugs for 4 supplied.
Clean, tidy and lovely room. The host April is lovely.
