"Room was excellent.
Check in at reception was great. Very welcoming and helpful reception team .
Unfortunately the pub was fully booked up for the food reservations and didn’t quite fancy the restaurant menu after a 7 hour drive.
Only downside to stay was we decided to have a drink in the hotel bar/ cocktail lounge whilst we discussed further supper options. My Partner approached bar which was empty to order but was told that we would be served at our table. Over the next 10-15 minutes we waited for somebody to take order but no one approached us despite there being at least 4 staff members going in and out with drinks. Plus the Woman behind bar who I presumed was the supervisor/ manager as she did not doing any serving of drinks during the time we waited. Anyway we left and found suitable supper and drinks elsewhere.
On the whole we would still use the Greenbank again when in Falmouth. To be honest there is not really a lot of great hotel choices here. But the rooms here and the hotel are of a good standard.
The breakfast experience the next morning was wonderful, good food, smiling happy staff and a great seafront location."
"Great Old fashioned pub with clean rooms above in town centre .Amazing welcome and very helpful staff. It even has a talking African grey parrot in the bar which says rude words. I loved it. Its a room above an old pub, so expect things to be old and the fixtures and fittings a bit wobbly with the floor uneven upstairs & bit tired, so if your looking for modern, en suite accomodation, like Travelodge/Permier inn then its not for you.
If, however, you just need an economical room(s) as a base for your family for visiting Hayle beach ,St ives or Gwithian for a few nights , you dont mind sharing clean bathrooms, enjoy plenty of hot water, you like a good cooked breakfast, clean bedding, free car parking reserved out the back of the place, and with a great Wetherspoons up the road for dinner then, like our family, its the place for you. They even kindly put our ICE packs in their freezer for us with no hesitation and that was amazing.
Its in the centre of Camborne and is 5 minutes walk from multiple takeaways, Aldi supermarket, and importantly, as the Vyvyan Arms doesnt serve evening meals or lunches, there is the biggest wetherspoon I have ever been in, which is actually a hotel itself. Throughly recommend it as a stop-over place for 2/3 nights- perhaps not for a week, as space is limited in the family room. Can't comment on the other rooms but I would imagine they are of a similar standard and are fine. Support it!
Will definately be staying again-
August 2026"
"The hotel had great amenities and set in an excellent location, overlooking the sea. Most of the staff were helpful and frindly although the service for the afternoon tea was not to the same standard as the rest (the staff were not very attentive). The lift was out of service when we arrived but was fixed swiftly. We booked two rooms and one of the rooms was much nicer than the other, with a bigger TV and wardrobe and more recently renovated.
It would be good to renovate the remaining rooms so they don't differ as much. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would happily return, although some consistency in the room standards and service would make the experience even better."
