Island Links Resort by Palmera
8/10 Good
"Full kitchen, clean and spacious rooms. Around a mile away from islanders beach."

Palmera Inn and Suites
2/10 Terrible
"⭐️⭐️ 2/5 – Very Disappointing Experience (Especially for Dog Owners)
We chose this hotel because it was labeled as “dog-friendly,” but our experience was far from welcoming.
Upon arrival, we walked into the lobby with our dog, Coopie, to check in and were immediately yelled at by multiple staff members. We were told that unless she was a service dog, she was not allowed in the lobby. While she is a service dog, the way this was handled was completely unprofessional and uncomfortable. We’ve traveled to many hotels over the years—both before and after she became a service dog—and have never experienced anything like this.
It’s important to note: this hotel being “dog-friendly” only seems to apply to having your dog inside the room—not in shared spaces—so keep that in mind if you’re traveling with a pet.
As for the hotel itself, it’s very basic and clearly outdated. The room felt neglected, with visible stains on the bedding, and the floors and bathroom did not appear clean. Overall cleanliness was a major concern.
Customer service was also disappointing. The front desk staff came across as rude and unwelcoming. Simple requests—like asking for extra towels or clean sheets—were met with attitude, which is frustrating considering this is standard service you expect from any hotel.
On top of everything, the general attitude toward dogs felt very negative, which made the stay even more uncomfortable.
Overall: This hotel may work if you just need a place to sleep"

"didnt visit"

Hilton Beachfront Resort & Spa Hilton Head Island

"Clean room. Good staff. "

Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island
8/10 Good
"Very crowded for spring break, but the place is nice. Staff is great. Would stay here again. "

Home2 Suites by Hilton Hilton Head
6/10 Okay
"The building and outside areas are very nice and well kept.
While most of the staff were incredibly nice and helpful, I think they were overwhelmed. It was Easter weekend. There was no coffee available on Saturday at 7:30 am (it should be flowing by that point). When I asked about room cleaning Saturday and fresh towels they mentioned that they only clean every other day. Then they called us back to say they would clean anyway—which was very nice. So we once again made sure to get out with the dog and wait an hour, but returning two hours later there was no room cleaning.
But the price was good and the hotel was clean, so overall it’s an affordable solution to a very expensive area. "

Holiday Inn Express Hilton Head Island by IHG
4/10 Poor
" Noisy, ok pool but nothing else"

Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort
6/10 Okay
"The hotel staff is amazing but the pool bar and market seemed understaffed given the hotel capacity.
We had a room issue arise in the middle of the night and it was handled well but still disappointing.
Overall the property is beautiful and the amenities are wonderful but I think they could use some refresh on standards and an increase in staff."

Coral Sands Resorts by Palmera
10/10 Excellent
"Everything in the facility was very clean and well maintained. No slow drains or broken fixtures.
The pools were amazing but not heated. The water was still pretty cold at the end of March.
The beach is a short walk down Pope Street. It is very nice. Wash off stations and changing rooms are provided. There is a small splash pad for the kids. There was a lifeguard present for bankers hours. The beach was clean and the clientele was well behaved and friendly. It was excellent for families.
We have two younger kids and we put them on the sleeper sofa. That worked well. There was a broom and vacuum cleaner provided and those were a great help to clean up after the kids. One caveat is that the kitchen table is in a carpeted area. Without a vacuum cleaner that would have been a disaster but the vacuum was provided and we were just fine!
The dishwasher is noisy and interferes with sleeping on the sleeper sofa. I recommend running it during the day instead of at night and then there is no problem.
After hours check in worked just fine. This is a timeshare style place so you have to talk to the timeshare salesperson in the morning for 5 minutes to get your access code renewed. They text you once a day asking you to attend the sales pitch. I've been to places where the salespeople call you 5-10 times a day and it gets really annoying. I appreciated that they limit it to one text a day here.
Overall my wife thought the place was amazing and rated it very highly. We would return."
