We were 4 friends on a motorcycle trip through the Picos. This place looked amazing in the photos so we booked it.
It was amazing when we got there. Situated in a quiet town overlooking the mountains, the place was beautifully kept, the staff were great, the food was very good, and the fact that our command of Spanish was very poor didn't stop us from having a great overnight stay.
We didn't use the spa so can't comment other than it looked very nice.
Lovely area! The woman who worked the front desk from Argentina was wonderful and offered great recommendations. The food at the restaurant was delicious. I only wish they tried to separate the families in one dining room as there were a handful of spoiled children. Loved the property and town! Walkable and charming
This a splendid hotel in the mountains with a spectacular view. The ideal retreat for those who want get away from the hustle and bustle of life. The indoor pool spa and outdoor pool are superb.
I only wished that that there was open access to the indoor pool spa and the restaurant did not need reservations. Being on vacation, I prefer an unstructured schedule where I can eat and bathe whenever I want.
Also, I prefer to be in a hotel surrounded by cafes, restaurants, markets etc. For my taste this hotel is a bit isolated. Nevertheless, it is ideal for those seeking this type of vacation retreat.
While the location is lively it was a 98 degree day and the air conditioning was out. The property was sweltering. They did not inform us of this at check in and the only help they offered was a fan which led to a windy sleepless and hot night.
Weekend stay on bike tour. Very decent standard. Great views, pretty village. Avoid if you prefer not to be on the fringe of someone else's wedding - it specialises in them. Otherwise fine.
We chose the hotel because a slightly higher price includes spa and it was great! The hotel is very luxurious with large and clean rooms that include silly details like free water and fruits but make the stay just more enjoyable. The property is at the end of a very, ver, very small village so be ready to drive 15 min for dinner (the hotel has a bar/restaurant we didn't try). In Villaviciosa however you will find some little regional restaurants that are just amazing. The spa is a nice extra touch, and for the price an unbeteable extra (it is actually nice you can book with or without for those that do not need it). Just be careful as you have to book it for the 2hr circuit so call them if you really plan on going at a certain time )for instance if you are leaving early the next day). Breakfast is ok (in our case continental as we were not offered anything hot but I am not sure if eggs can be requested). They have jamon, cheese, nice yogurts, some pastries, but the highlight is an orange juice machine you can use yourself. I must have recovered the price of the night by consuming litters of that!
