"This is a lovely B&B on the hill behind Talkeetna. Our room, which was upstairs, had amazing views of Denali and the Alaska Range of mountains. It was also very spacious and clean. Breakfast is self-serve, but plentiful with lots of options. We loved this B&B, especially because of the views and the north-facing orientation of the balconies, which meant we could see the Northern Lights right from our room balcony or the main balcony of the house."
"The views from this lodge are absolutely out of this world — truly breathtaking and worth the trip on their own. You feel immersed in Alaska’s wild beauty with Denali right in front of you.
That said, the rooms themselves are extremely basic. They look and feel more like a boy scout camp cabin than a lodge in such an extraordinary location. Very barebones, no charm or comfort touches you’d expect given the setting.
If you come here, come for the views and the location — but don’t expect the accommodations to match the scenery."
"The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room was very small for 2 adults with 3 suitcases. The view of the river and mountains was wonderful. I am glad we did not select the courtyard view since the courtyard was a dark hallway between the individual unit entries on either side. Great place for the price. The heater was adequate for the 45 degrees from last night, but it may be weak on colder nights. "
"Fantastic lodging option and very affordable. The rooms are located above a very popular bar that does Karaoke night which is very fun and lively. Everytime I told people in the area I was staying at the Fairview Inn they would always ask me questions about the place because of its rich history. Be aware though that the rooms are quite small and there are shared bathrooms, but with two bathrooms you won’t have to wait long to use them and they’re cleaned every day. I highly recommend the Fairview Inn if you’re okay in a smaller space and just need a room for sleeping while enjoying what Alaska has to offer."
