"No frills but good location. I just needed a bed and shower during a trip to see a concert at the nearby De Montfort Hall. It's a great location for that, less than 5mins walk, also near plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. It's cheap so I didn't expect much. The room and toilet/shower was basic but clean. "I didn't sleep brilliantly, due to loud banging doors. Thats more the fault of idiots who cant gently close their doors. The best thing about the hotel was the breakfast, although ot should stay open longer than 9.30am."

"Stayed here for two nights. Friendly staff on arrival - dispensing ice lollies on a very hot afternoon. Room ok but very hot - only two of the windows opened and even then not very far. Fan simply stirred hot air around. Plenty of water provided and tea-making replenished on request. Decent biscuits too. Big disadvantage is that the restaurant for breakfast and evening meals is in separate building 100 yards away up a hill. Need umbrella if it is raining. Had one dinner in there - food ok but service disorganised and slow. Breakfast disappointing - continental selection ok but hot food left under heat lamps far too long. Rubber fried eggs and inedible scrambled eggs. Nice walk down to Rutland Water - lots of birdlife to see."
