"The first feeling was hot in the room and the smell of air fresheners. It was sunset and the room was heated in the sun for several hours. I kept the windows widely open for the night and slept well. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable. If the room was not hot, it was fine. I hope the smell could be treated. The breakfast was excellent, grand treat."

"I stayed 3 times within the last 10 years and the hotel changed a lot. For business it is maybe still ok, but private not anymore! - late arrivals has to use a check in terminal (only a not excited security person on site) - Parking is now 15 eur per night which adds up a lot when you stay 9 nights (before it was free or 10 euro) - Airconditioning not working (but advertised). Works only if outside temperature is > than 20C. Room was hot esp. after taking showers, no vent in bathroom. You can open the windows…but with no bug nets…you deal with mosquitoes and wasp. - shower drain slow, water spills over into bathroom floor ( needed towels for stop flooding - the biggest show stopper. Now they claim a „green hotel“. Your room is made only every 3rd day. When you are lucky you can take your needed bathroom rolls or tissue box, extra towel for the wet ones from flooding, from the cleaner cart. (Business travellers who stay only a night…don’t feel the pain!) Having a „green key“ certification at the entrance of the hotel seems great but the customers experience a poor service… that doesn’t make sense. Most likely I will choose a different hotel in the future even the location is perfect and quiet. Overall a poor experience!!!!"

"We've been coming to Art Hotel for many years. It is a great place to relax and have an amazing breakfast in a very quiet calm area of the city, yet 10 min taxi from city center or nice 30min walk. We will continue to come here <3"

"This is the second time we have stayed at the Van Der Valk in Spa having previously stayed in a sister hotel in Liege. The staff are welcoming and professional, the hotel is very clean with all amenities provided. The restaurant and bar area are very much the centre of the hotels focal point, looking out onto the main square in Spa and opposite the famous casino. On both occasions other than a slight issue when checking out this time whereby an internal issue was saying that we hadn’t pre-paid for our room when we had we have never had an issue and will look to return next year. Car parking is free if you are fortunate enough to get a spot in front of the hotel or €20 per night in the secure underground car park directly below the hotel from where you can take the lift straight up to your floor. The restaurant staff are excellent and the he food choice and quality is exceptional with a choice for everyone and for a hotel is priced very reasonably, the same applies to the drinks with the large car area being the focal point in the restaurant area. The breakfast is a buffet in the same restaurant, great choice of fresh fruit, croissant’s etc in addition to cooked foods such as bacon and sausage. Our standard room was clean, large and had a great view of the square, the bathroom is also large and clean. Thoroughly recommended! "
