Budavár Hotels near Budapest

"The aircondition didn’t work well so it was pretty hot in the hotel room even tho it was only 16° outside. The carpets in the room had stains and it looked a little bit old overall (in the room) the other facilities were good. We got a double duvet.. which for us was kind of annoying to sleep with because we want separate duvets. The staff was nice and helped us with a taxi to the airport when it was time to leave. The bar in the hotel was not for us. Det drinks didn’t have much taste and the bartender constantly licked his fingers while making drinks, which we found very inhygienic. But overall it was a nice stay in the springtime. Would not recommend it in the summer (because of the very hot room and I could imagine it would be worse when the temperature rises during summertime) The hotel was on the Buda side and if you are a walker then you would love it, because if you want to go to the inner city you have to walk for a bit. It was close to the castle and fisherman’s bastion tho which was nice. "

"Loved the ascetic -(prewar), staff were friendly, room was clean and practical - (I wasnt there much could be badic for some) breakfast was simple but fresh. Free wifi and hold for suitcases. "

"This was a very nice apartment. Everything was clean and comfortable. It was very noisy however as there was drilling going on. The fridge, was more like a freezer as it froze everything in it. But other than that I would highly recommend it. "

"One comment to hotel management team to take action asap. Hotel staff asked to pay for parking €28 while my booking via Expedia was clearly offered as free valley parking… no extra charges!! No upgrades When I reminded hotel staff & requested full refund for being charged €28 they agreed but funny thing until today funds wasn’t refunded to my credit card!? This happen to me now twice so travelers should be aware!! Hopefully by the time I visit hotel my refund arrives:) thanks for the bottle of wine in the room anyways Happy Easter! "

"This is a stunning hotel. I kept thinking I may not fit in with the clientele! If I have a complaint it’s the same throughout Europe, and that is, no top sheet on the beds, just a duvet with a cover. But the duvet is too hot middle of the night and way too cold with nothing covering me. But that’s not a slight on this hotel, just a general comment on all the hotels I’ve been in this trip. The staff are terrific with good English, breakfast I thought was excellent. My daughter used the gym each day and said it was really good and very clean. "
