"Needlessly complicated check in process - why did I have to supply my ID? There is no UK legal requirement for this and most places don't do it. "The accommodation was disappointment. Not only did I find that there was an addition £12.50 to pay for parking at the property, which was not specified in the booking. The property is clearly advertised as having doors that open from the lounge to the outside sea front. On arriving at the property I found the doors from the lounge locked and no key available to unlock them. "We have stayed at Astor house before so we came back to the same apartment. They had upgraded the sofas to recliners which was a nice surprise. The apartment itself is easy to get to clean and Torquay town centre is a short walk away. It has a great view over the beach side of Torquay and the area is quiet. The place is clean and well maintained and the host kindly provided some biscuits and milk. I would highly recommend this place."

"The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, the fan provided was barely adequate, (oh for some air conditioning). The receptionist was rather abrupt, & the parking was rather hit & miss. The bar was very comfortable & the staff there pleasant. The restaurant airy & the staff pleasant. Food good. Overall stay was quite pleasant."
