"The advert on the hotels.com website did not match the facts of the stay. The advert states free parking it was not it cost me £30 for the stay. We spoke to the owner who stated that the advert was not placed by him. It was the fault of hotels.com as he does not use them you get your info from a 3rd party All I know is that I am £30 out of pocket. The stay was good as I can not blame hotels.com for all the rain."

The Imperial Torquay

10/10 Excellent

"Fantastic welcoming staff who went out of their way to help. Sea view balcony was well worth the extra as it was the hottest day of the year and early morning tea at 6am there with the fantastic view and slight breeze started the day beautifully. The indoor pool was great (12 metres) and quite soon after opening (7am) so 100 lengths were done in no time without having to weave around more sedentary swimmers. Breakfast buffet and evening meal both good with fantastic views. Only downside was checking in. We arrived at 4 with a long slow moving queue and 3 separate couples returning to the desk while we were in the queue as their given rooms were already occupied! No one tried to get into our room but it was a bit disconcerting."

Moxy Plymouth

"3rd visit to the Moxy and each has been a fabulous stay. All staff we encountered were excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and working extremely hard during a hot bank holiday weekend. I was incredibly impressed with how clean they keep common areas, even sweeping the outside pavement! Breakfast was very nice, lots of options. Rooms were brilliantly cooled by strong aircon, amenities in the rooms are brilliant, comfy beds. Decent water pressure even on the 5th floor. It is rare I think a hotel can get away with charging more.. but the Moxy could. Plenty of big car parks within a 5 minute walk. This is my preferred choice of budget hotel when staying in Plymouth."

"Easy walking distance to Plymouth Train Station, and within walking distance of the waterfront area. Good towels/linens. Decent room size. One thing to keep in mind is that the rooms are NOT air conditioned and the windows barely open two inches. There is a ceiling fan and a small electric fan however. Wouldn’t want to be there during any kind of heat wave."

"Stayed here many times previously. Excellent stay again no issues. Little disappointed with the check in guy who stated I had been given a complimentary upgrade to an executive room. This was not the case and it was a standard room. Why lie? I’m not a novice traveller. Quite frankly I could not be bothered to complain . Smoking area outside the bar was in a terrible state! It was dirty disgusting with lots of rubbish inc broken bottles and glasses. Ashtrays were brimful and hadn’t been emptied for ages. Chris and all his colleagues at breakfast were fantastic. Totally professional helpful and in good vibes."
