The BCPA has a strong focus on arts-in-education programs for the entire community. Apart from the Florida Grand Opera, it has teamed up with Broadway Across America, the Symphony of the Americas, Miami City Ballet, Gold Coast Jazz and Concert Association of Florida to bring a huge variety of cultural entertainment to South Florida. It also hosts lectures and workshops.

The BCPA also runs Fort Lauderdale’s iconic Parker Playhouse from 1967, the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center at the local Nova Southeastern University, and the Miramar Cultural Center and ArtsPark.

Thompson and the theater opened its doors with a memorable performance of Phantom of the Opera in 1991. The venue can seat some 3,700 spectators at once and features the Au-Rene and Amaturo Theaters. Its third hall, the Abdo New River Room, is suitable for banquets and conferences as well as stage shows.
