Great place to stay, loved the pool, very relaxing and quiet, and the kitchen was good, easy to cook in.

Liked: Cleanliness
Room was spotless and bed was comfortable but just be prepared very limited amenities. The community bathroom was clean and did have some supplies to use
The CONVENIENCE of this location to public transport is remarkable. It's an old building - probably the only reason I've downgraded the amenities. They're old fashioned, but just the best bed to sleep in with brilliant linen, and towels readily available. I was in a very quiet room at the back of the premises. Just basically felt like home!
Basic budget accommodation with communal facilities. Good value for the price and fine for the trip I was on.

The property was was quiet, not many people there. Had good cooking facilities and lots of parking. Easy walk in to town. Rooms are very basic but had what you need shared bathrooms were very clean and looked after:
Chek-in is complicared after office hours, unless contacted Tourist Lodge and got guidance, how to proceed.
Transportation is near. Bus station is quite near and train station within 10 .. 15 minutes walk.
Walls are thin. Others hear well, what you are doing and counterwise.

Old lodge near the Visitor Center
Communal travellers Lodge with small private dorm like rooms with common shared bathrooms. Staff were friendly, but a bit absent and checked out… You got the sense that they wanted to be left alone. Excellent common kitchen area with some free products like coffee and tea. Inviting pool in the courtyard. Everything about the common areas was actually above average, but the rooms are in dire need of refurbishment with stained carpets and what seemed to be cigarette burns, and yellowed window coverings. The bed was clean, though! Overall, it’s exactly what you expect from being in the middle of the outback and a place that has served travellers for decades. It would probably do them some good to do some deep cleaning and renovations and reopen as an excellent property, but for now it is what it is

The place itself is a little shabby but the rooms are freshly painted and renovated and the staff are really great.
