Briarwood Hotels near Ann Arbor

"We normally stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton when visiting our granddaughter at U of M in Ann Arbor, MI. For this one night stay we decided to check out the Hyatt Place Ann Arbor since it was less expensive, and it also had an “exceptional” rating. Our experience was not “exceptional.” The original price had to be upgraded if we wanted an “upper floors” room. When we checked in there was an additional $10 fee to use their parking lot. The room was less than half the size of the suite at the Homewood and didn’t even have a microwave oven. Due to the rain my jacket got soaked. After ringing it out in the bathroom shower, I took it to the “guest laundry” and put it into the clothes dryer for a 45-minute, high heat cycle. Upon removing it I discovered there was no heat in the dryer, and my jacket was still wet. We will be staying at the Homewood Suites by Hilton for all our future visits to Ann Arbor."

"The hotel was new. The rooms and hotel was very clean. The staff was friendly enough. The breakfast had a lot of choices. The parking area was safe. Our issue was that there was 1-2 inch gap between our hotel room and the joining room next door which made the volume a bit much. We asked to swich rooms but the hotel was completely sold out due to the Michigan basketball teams parade. This door and others like it need to be fixed. Otherwise a great hotel for the price. "

"Hair dryer handle was sticky and either the dryer or outlet didn’t work. Breakfast facility was excellent. "

"The Hotel was in the middle of renovation! There was some sounds of construction at 3 am. Repetitive knocking sound. Ice machine & beverages on first floor. Elevator area being remodeled."

"Love to stay here when visiting my daughter at UM. Staff is alway friendly and the rooms are super clean. Love the quiet atmosphere, gives me a space to relax and rest after a 4 hour drive. "
